I just wrote a weird post about artistry and doodling. It started out as one thing and ended up another. Didn't bother to edit it, as it ended with something I find kind of interesting. What do you doodle when you're on the phone or otherwise preoccupied? Scans anyone?

Haha, cute ones! They remind me of one of my favourite cartoons, about a Chinchilla.

    Ohhh doodling my favourite subject!

In college when I am making notes, I sometimes drift into the world of doodle.
    College doodle Oct 6th

Then at home, while I am working on homework or blogging I always have a piece of paper in front of me and just go mad.

    counselling reflection

Doodling is like art therapy for me

Guess what? It was your site that inspired my blog post! The one I referred to as "totally unique". I just decided not to link back as my post turned out being about "disposable art", and I thought yours would be way too cool and would make people self-conscious!

Bloomin heck! I am rendered almost speechless.

What a nice thing to say

      Okay maybe not speechless.

I draw a sort of puzzle from hell, with narrow, twisting pieces ending in sharp angles. If left to my own devices long enough, I'll fill the whole page and then start coloring them. It actually looks pretty cool when I'm done, but mostly it's a bunch of pointy shapes branching out and merging.

If I am not working on proper stuff: eyes, fairies and mystical looking people:)

      Wow that's so cute

Why thank you Clair, from someone I consider to be the mistress of doodle, thats a great compliment...;)
I love the one of your teacher(not), LOL....
Do they ever get embarassing? I confess that when I was at a important conference recently one of the guys from the top of the tree leaned over "thats a quality doodle".......ooops, caught out!!

Definitely gets embarrassing, as the doodle is not of my tutor! She thought something Freudian was going on and maybe I was subconsciously doodling her. Bloody counselling tutors

Also I always doodle big boobs and tentacles, which some people think is a little bit naughty

@Sebastyne - I like your paper cone doodles...cool! I like to doodle here: bomomo.com/ cause I ran out of paper :o)

Oh I love that one! And you can save your doodles too, which is... Dangerous to the hard drive and completely useless, but so cool. I just spent quite some time doodling on that.

I used to draw quite a bit. In college, I'd had a weekly comic strip in the school paper, which I scanned recently for fun and put online. You can see that here:

    cabbages-n-kings.blogspot.com/2008/10/sheep-thrills-from-dusty-archives.htm...

Currently, I still have fun illustrating stories with little online graphics I do in Microsoft Word.

I think my favorite is here:

I agree with Claire-- the doodling is therapy.

I'm not sure if these classify as "doodles" but I do love them.

My drawing is terrible, but my handwriting can be pretty artistic, so I often write names and words in my best handwriting. Another thing I do is write a matrix of dots and connect them to make some interesting shapes.
    1. Sebastyne
Oh I do that too, now that you mentioned it. I try to come up with names containing a lot of S's and L:s, as they usually turn out beautiful... You see, normally my hand writing is not that pretty. In fact, most of the time I'm the only one who's able to read it.

Mate, what do you do at the meetings? Are you the coffee cup holder or something? These are certainly not doodles by someone who is busy.
    2. crpitt
I think he is an uber doodler
    3. lordsomber
      You are both correct.
