Is it a good idea or a bad idea?

(Just thought I'd break up the monotony.)

It's not as if it's an "idea". It's a reality.

It's scary. not the going to heaven part, but the dying part

I hope when I die it happens fast and painless....lol

me to j. do you ever wander what it feels like though. I mean the moment your soul leaves your body. I've always wondered, what that feels like.
    2. jflower36
Yeah, I have thought about that. The unknown can be a little scary but I trust that God will instill me with peace.
    3. HollytheHousewife
yea,I'm sure he will, still you fear the unknown and nobody alive truly knows what it feels like to die. I guess I'm just gonna have to wait and see.

it's all good. without death there could be no life.

It's a good thing. Death is a way of population control. Without it Earth wouldn't support the quantity of life that would still be on it's surface.

On a selfish vision it's not good because we don't want to separate from our loved ones.

Death is always painful when it comes because it means that a person is cut off from the world of the living. It means that between the dead and the living there comes a distance much farther than the farthest point on this earth. When a person lives, one can always hope he will come back home sooner or later, but when a person is dead, one can only hope to join him someday.

There is nothing final in death, which no one ever likes. When death comes, it's all over for the person this side of life. No matter how miserable one's life my have been, death appears always terrifying. Life is just too beautiful to end in death. But faith teaches us that death is the necessary passage to eternal life. Jesus said, "Unless the grain of wheat falls to the earth and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat. But if it dies, it produces much fruit." (John 12:24)

    Depends on who is dying.

What I think about death is that I am not worried about it.. Eventually it will be a reality for me.. but until then I have so much stuff I want to do... I have no time to dwell on dying!

Thanks for all these wonderful replies. Would love to hear from more people on this topic. Death is such an incredible phenomenon. So real and unreal at the same time.

death will happn sooner or later so I don't put much thought into it.

@Elite: When we speak or think about death isn't it just an idea? It's only a reality when we experience it.

@Floormodel: True. But I'm curious how the idea affects you. You know, this feeling that we all have just this limited amount of time.

Death for me is my birthday for eternity. (^_^)

I've already been dead. I don't recall a darn thing about it.

Except I do remember waking up thinking dang, couldn't they just put me back under?

I don't think death is as bad as some make it out to be.

It is more the fear of what happens afterwards... nothing or something.

If it's nothing - oh well... toodle oooooo

If it's something --- well what kind of something?

Are we sent to heaven? Are we sent to Hell? Purgatory? Are we Forced to be born again into some other form? Are we forced to live this life over and over? Do we disperse into electrons? Do we continue on?

To be honest - I really couldn't tell you what happens when you die.

To me, it is something that must be done by everyone at some point.

I'm not terrified of it, but I don't welcome it with open arms either.

I suppose I will figure it all out when it happens again, if no one brings me back this time.

How were you dead? And if you came back, can you really call that death??

My younger brother died tragically last year and it has left our family feeling empty.

It's our final destination. Be a good person and enjoy life while you still can.

Is it a good idea or a bad idea?

Well you don’t have much choice in the matter

But you do have a choice on how quickly you will get there, one of the reasons I write my blog for those who would like to prolong their mortal life.

I have seen a number of people die in my lifetime and if you are lucky it will be quick, if you neglect your body you might not be so lucky.

Watching a family member slowly die has to be the worst thing, after a while you actually wish for them to pass to end their suffering.

On a brighter note even though im not religious, I truly believe that your mortal life is only a stepping-stone to a greater future if you are truly prepared to make it.

But just in case im wrong I will keep this body in tip top shape and try to hang around a little longer LOL

"...a stepping stone to a greater future..." How so?

It's just before the passage through it that is hard I think, after whatever it would just be a liberation that life-after-life exists or not.

If you know the secret, then it's not a problem.
    And the secret, is Forgiveness.

Life is unfair! And even, Offensive! But through forgiveness, Jesus was able to Forgive Life, and let it go. Likewise He was able to Forgive Death, and let it go, too.

Both life and death, are but dimensions in an existence we cannot as of Yet, perceive. But I perceive it, as did Jesus. Yet where I perceive, Jesus Believed. And for that reason, I welcome death. As it will only Free me, from my unbelief.

Similar to what Paul said: "Now we see through a glass darkly, etc.,"

What would be life without death ?

A great subject for a novel

Nobody would have enough money if you lived for say 1,000 years though.

The government would go broke giving out social security.

Medicare fraud would be a gazillion dollars a year. Doctors would have a field day cheating the system forever.
