   Never had luck with Orkutt. Most people on Orcutt are from and are only intersted in people from the subcontinent. Rarely would I get a response from a post.

      Even i thought so earlier. However, after i came across the below given community, i've a different view about orkut forum:

      The platform is there. It is for us to develop / make use of it. Orkut platform is similar to that of BC. You need to have like minded members and passion to discuss the topic in depth (like the community above). Bring on board good moderators too. Result you would have created a great discussion forum!
      
      Check the groups here in BC:
      (eg) www.blogcatalog.com/group/the-business-blog-group
      This problem (response) is there in many online communities!!
      
      Apropos, i feel the platform is almost same - BC & Orkut. The approach of the topic initiator / community owner and his/her social/networking skills makes a difference. The platform is not the culprit here!
