Is anyone else besides Michelle Obama leaving the house these days? Because for the last week, you would have thought that Anne Hathaway, Gwyneth Paltrow and Halle Berry had gone into the Witness Protection Program.

During first lady Michelle Obama's whirlwind visit to Europe this past week, her refreshing take on American style has emerged. It is elegant, smart, appropriate and shows the first lady to be comfortable in her own skin.

I love it!

I like her clothes but since I've never seen her closet can't say.

Hey! Sorry for the late reply. Wanna say that we will see more of Michelle's closet when she makes more public appearances for the next year or so. I bet lots of her stuff are sponsored by designers...and designer always means fashionable most of the time, agree?

Michelle Obama always looks gorgeous and dignified!

I have no problem with Mrs. Obama wearing nice clothes what I object to is the BIG stink here supports made of Sarah Palin wearing some nice clothes that were provided for her during the campaign. Every American wants her to look her best even a conservative like me.

:)In a way, the wardrobes of the rich and famous may be something that regular people can't touch whether republican or democrat.I have given up the chase a long time ago of following fashion blindly and to keep up with the jones.

I think I'd rather pull my fingernails out than spend one minute contemplating what clothes she wears. Most first ladies dress well and that's great. I'm much more impressed by regular women who look beautiful without all the hoopla.

Agree.....especially when a lady dresses fashionably without breaking the bank, that is more worthy of respect!...that is my motivation now...to be a recessionista.

She is an elegant and classy lady and her clothes reflect this. She wears clothes that the majority of us would wear. They are not flashy, nor are they understated. Mrs. Obama always chooses the appropriate outfit to fit the occasion--whether she is embracing the Queen of England or embracing a young child at a local school.

      Agree! She has class!

What is more important is what an amazing ambassador the First Lady was for America during the her European tour. The countries she visited were in love with her and President Obama. I believe that this will go a long way towards repairing American image abroad.

Still, the First Lady's clothes have nothing on Stillthinking's fur coat!

Obamas closet that would make a good blog, follow her fashion trends, and outfits, and where to buy the same designer clothes at your local Gap, HHMMMMM!!! Very Intresting,,,@@

Yep! I think mixing designer with the regular mall brands is genius! I do that from time to time, like wearing a $10 tee with my favorite pair of designer jeans and I am good to go! What's your style?

What ever bambilashes style may be, I notice she hasn't posted since last September, so maybe using her shoutbox is a better way to get an answer.

    I don't think about Michelle Obama's closet.

Just wondering, what's your fashion style? casual jeans and tees or dresses and skirts or both? Shout back.

You are forgetting iamrecessionista that many here are not American and don't have much interest in what the first lady wears. Come to think of it I haven't thought much about it either other than I get the impression she knows how to put together an elegant outfit no matter whether it is designer or off the rack.

Her fashion sense is exclusively her with a unique signature style

I think she is chic yet simple and classy.

I do have to say I enjoy chic, simple and classy dressing, usually in black with a signature piece (a scarf or necklace).

I'm a Canadian and I don't concern myself about what Michele Obama is wearing. The few times I glimpsed at her on the tube she was simply but elegantly turned out.

It is hard sometimes hard to relate to the lives and wardrobes of the rich and famous. I live in the US but I never follow fashion blindly just becos a celebrity or first lady was wearing a certain outfit. Gosh! Did u read about that jcrew cardigan that sold out after Michelle wore it on national TV?
