We've talked a lot about avatars before, but why did you choose your Blog Catalog user name? What does it mean to you? Mine is fairly generic, and has no special meaning other than I had to type in something! What about you and your Internet handle?

  1. Friday13
Friday the 13th. Just randomly picked.
    1. gtally
Do you consider it lucky or unlucky? And does it have anything to do with the slasher flicks?
    2. Friday13
Nothing to do with the movies. I've only watched one of those films, and it was ... not good.
    3. gtally
      Scary or just simply lousy?
    4. Friday13
      Simply lousy.
  2. MarinaRey
I picked mine because it's my pen name; it's a play of Marina del Rey (you can check my About Me on my blog, it explains it), as West LA, Marina del Rey, Venice and Santa Monica are all some of my favorite places in the whole world.
    1. gtally
I've never been to Marina del Ray. Is it pretty? I'll definitely go check out your "About me."
    2. MarinaRey
It's absolutely gorgeous. It's right near Venice, and there's a pathway where you can bike up the coast through Venice Beach and Santa Monica. Most beautiful spot on the West Coast.
    3. gtally
I'll have to add it to my list of places to visit. Thanks!
  3. GabrielGadfly
Mine is also my pen name.
    1. gtally
Love the user name. It sounds like a particularly acerbic children's book character. Sort of as if Dennis Leary appeared in fairy tales.
  4. busylizzy
I had lots of ideas for blogs. Back when I was a preschool teacher aka Miss Liz, the kids called me Miss Lizzy. When I told the kids about lots of projects to be done, I referred to myself as being a Busy Lizzy. So there you go!
    1. gtally
Yeah, you look and sound as if you're really good with kids. How long were you a teacher?
    2. busylizzy
The one in my avatar is actually a ventriloquist doll! NOT! That's my daughter a few years back just before kindergarten. Let's see- I was an assistant teacher for about a year during my last year of night college. After I graduated with my ECE degree, I was a head teacher for about 4 years. Then I left that market and got a job that paid almost double. I am curious - what about me looks like I am good with kids? Is it the assumed silliness of anyone who'd wear flowers in their hair? The lack of psychotic facial characteristics? LOL!
    3. gtally
Well, I dunno. It *is* the hippie flowers and the fact that you're not, oh say, strangling your kid the way Homer Simpson does Bart. Just call it intuition.
  5. letter2V
Great question! I chose it because I wanted to include at least one of the initials in my name and relate it to something I favor, like writing letters. Also, it's catchy.
    1. gtally
It's catchy and très chic! What have you written lately?
  6. melindaville
M stands for my first name, "Melinda"
Tyler stands for my last name "Tyler"
77 was my old taxi number when I used to drive
    1. gtally
You were a taxi driver? Awesome! You've got to share some of your best stories with us!
    2. melindaville
LOL--I had some good ones. Particularly when I was driving in NYC. That was really wild (and a long time ago).
    3. gtally
Can you share any links about your taxi stories from your blog?
    4. melindaville
You know, I have only written one blog post about driving a taxi--and it was years after I drove in NYC, when I was driving a taxi in Montana while going to college. I've never blogged about the NYC taxi experiences, although I wrote about one in my memoir (which I am curently writing and blogging about). The one post about driving the taxi in Montana is called "Living in the Moment" and the link is: blog.melindaville.com/2009/01/30/living-in-the-moment.aspx

Most of my blog stories are centered around the things in my memoir; writing about my experiences as a former actor, punk rock musician, heroin addict, sex industry worker and my 15 year journey of recovery.
    5. gtally
Please oh please don't forget to blog about the taxi chapter of your life. It sounds so compelling.
    6. windroot
I read your piece on the REACH program. I echo the sentiments of those who would love to hear more about driving a taxi in NYC. Also, I thought your site was most impressive. It has lots of features, but they don't get in the way of the writing. If I knew how to get one of those damn smiley faces, I'd put one here.
    7. gtally
windroot, to draw an emoticon smiley face, you use colon, then the right parenthesis. So it's

      : + ) =

      FYI...
  7. dosox
    DOSOX: DO SOmething eXtra
    DOSON: DO SOmething New
    1. ophase
I thought your name was Doson??
    2. gtally
User Name cronyms are always welcome, although I don't do text acronyms: LOL, etc. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to do it. Slang is OK to me, but text speak is beyond me...
  8. letter2V
    To DOSOX, great acronyms!
    1. dosox
      Thanks
  9. Anok
Anok: loosely translated means "Without master".

It is often cited or claimed to be the root word of "anarchy". Seemed appropriate
    1. gtally
What language, Anok? I thought it was a play on "Amok."
    2. GabrielGadfly
      I like that. Nice choice.
    3. Anok
Well, now that you mention it..

I've heard Greek originally. Some say it's just a new slang for anarchy. *shrug*
    4. gtally
Encyclopedia Britannica says Anok is a mask-making style of African sculpture:

      www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/26547/anok

      Pretty appropriate, given your picture!
    5. Anok
Ha! Yes, that is the other definition of it
  10. MyohMy
My first thought. MyohMy! Not too deep I'm afraid.

    1. gtally
I like your methodology. It's still a decent, random way to arrive at a username.
  11. salomey5
If I call my username out loud, my cat shows up (sometimes).

Years ago, my ex and I needed a name to register on i can't remember what site. We tried the cat's name, Salomé, but it was taken. After tweaking it for a while, we found 'salomey5' was available.
I stuck with it ever since, for some reason. Not the funkiest name, but it's easy to remember.
    1. gtally
Sometimes, I fake my dog out by saying something that sounds like, "Do you want to go for a walk?"

      "Tijuana Frijole Farts?"
  12. fearless21
    One with no fear
    1. gtally
      And the 21?
    2. fearless21
      It's my lucky number!
  13. sunnyberra
I didn't pick mine for any real reason. I was just stumped for a username on another site, and when I thought of sunnyberra it seemed easy to remember and I liked it. So, now I use it for most sites I join
    1. Anok
Oh, and i thought it was describing your sunny disposition!
    2. sunnyberra
      @ anok

If my family saw that, they'd laugh

But, hey, now that you mention it--I think I'll go with that reason, instead! It's so much better than mine *g*
    3. Anok
Well, I'm not exactly a ray of freaking sunshine myself - so compared to me, you're sparkling!
    4. gtally
I thought it was the name of your ferret. What is your ferret's name, by the way?
    5. sunnyberra
      @gtally

the name of the ferret in the picture is Yogi (my other two are Pixie and Sian).
  14. windroot
I liked the imagery of two opposing ideas -- the freedom of the wind and the permanence of roots -- combined in a single thought package.
    1. gtally
I like that poetical answer a lot better than if you had said it had something to do with Microsoft kernals.
    2. windroot
Windroot is a medicinal plant that brings relief by making you throw up. Some will say the avatar works either way, I guess.
    3. gtally
A barfing seraphim. Love it. Your avatar is now officially my favorite.
  15. darren1985
Just my name and birth year... Special to me.. :-)
    1. gtally
Simple, yet functional. Works for me.
  16. lordiwanttobewhole
Lord I Want to be Whole.......its the name of my blog!
    1. gtally
I haven't seen your blog yet. I'll go take a look. Do you need healing?
  17. harveyavatar
Harvey is the 6 foot rabbit in the movie with James Stewart. Avatar is the main user(pen)name of a close friend (R.I.P) whose forum musings I have translated on my blog.
    1. gtally
Another of my all time favorite plays/movies. I saw an outdoor theater production of Harvey as a kid, and they made the rocking chair rock when Harvey sat down in it, with no one touching the chair. To this day, I have no idea how they did it...
    2. windroot
One of my favorite movies of all time. How many people remember Jessie White these days?
  18. ekim941
My first name backwards and my area code.
    1. Anok
That's not the number of women who've slapped you?
    2. gtally
Makes sense. What area code is that?
  19. LaMirabelle
It's a fruit that grows in my region.
    1. gtally
That's a kind of plum from the south of France, right?
  20. sisterofmercy
My name is taken from a Gothic rock band called The Sisters of Mercy.
    1. gtally
Really? What are their greatest hits?
    2. sisterofmercy
This Corrosion and Temple of Love were the 2 singles that did quite well in the charts, though I like Under the Gun.
  21. JaydenVasara
i used to have a blog about the 'musing of a smart-ass chick' and my user name is a truncated version of that. of course that's no longer my blog, but u know....
    1. gtally
Gotta run with the theme, for consistency's sake, right?
  22. inmyredhead
    Because I think too much.
    1. gtally
What's wrong with being a thinker? Are you a worrier or an over-analyzer?
    2. inmyredhead
Not a worrier at all....I'm a very literal over analyzer type.

Sux to be me sometimes, lol. But I don't worry about it. :-D
  23. drjay1966
Unlike a certain basketball player who won't be mentioned, I am actually a doctor (of philosophy) and my name is actually Jay...and I was born in 1966...
    1. gtally
Do you teach philosophy? Who's your favorite philosopher?
  24. LynneaUrania
Simply my first and middle name, in lieu of the former name I mostly used on boards like this: LYNNEA OF HEAVEN.
    1. gtally
      Why of heaven?
    2. LynneaUrania
My middle name, Urania is Greek for "of heaven."
  25. MadMadMargo
I'm mad I tell ya, mad.
    1. LynneaUrania
      Lovable mad!
    2. MadMadMargo
      awww, shucks. thank you.
    3. gtally
Yeah, you're "Mad in the U.S.A."
  26. enhancephotos
    I edit and enhance photos
    1. gtally
      The name says it all!
  27. crpitt
The reasoning behind my username is far too deep and complex to write here.
    1. gtally
Can you give us the Cliff's Notes version?
    2. crpitt
I was using my sarcasm font when typing above statement
    3. gtally
Ha! I was using my gullible font. I frequently do.
    4. crpitt
I will let you off just this once
    5. gtally
Uh oh. Then I'm in trouble! (the wine hotel said naively).
    6. crpitt
Never take someone with a bra on their head seriously
  28. aningeniousname
Quality and value at an affordable price.
    1. MrsBlog
      LOL! and LOL again!
      love your sense of humour!
    2. gtally
"Quality and value at an affordable price, or your aardvark back!"
  29. Kingjoe
As unsual as this may sound. Kingjoe is my real first name.
    1. Stillthinking
      That's awesome.
    2. Kingjoe
Thanks. I apperciate the name now but when I was younger I thought my parents were on crack when they made the name up. You can imagine the teasing in school. Sticks and Stone. LOL
    3. gtally
Kingjoe definitely has a coolness factor about it. I can't repeat what my friends call me, or this post would be deleted by the admins!
  30. Stillthinking
Stillthinking was shortened from I'm Still Thinking About It, which is something that comes out of my mouth at least once a day. Especially at Starbucks with a line of people behind me spewing smoke from their ears.
    1. LynneaUrania
I guess the kitty cat likes more than just the cream at Starbucks.
    2. gtally
What's your favorite Starbucks coffee or tea?
  31. foodhere
Food Here is the name of my convenience store and blog! I wanted to use my real name, Mr. Ram Sylvester Venkatararam but it was too long.

    THanks for asking!!
    1. gtally
I'll have to check your blog out. Not too many store convenience store owners are using social media to capture new customers, so I think you're onto a really good idea, here.
  32. chicky401
Chicky is a nickname my friends have been calling me for years the 401 is a special birthday to me, one of my children. And yes she was born April Fools Day
    1. gtally
Really? My birthday is in April, too. So, another Ares, huh? We're known for being a bit stubborn.
  33. ClickHere
Do I really need to explain? Just do it.
    1. gtally
      Name sez it all.
  34. nanaoise
It's a character from an anime that I can relate to. Another online community gave me this name, and I decided to use it in BC for the sheer heck of it.
    1. gtally
Outside of Howl's Moving Castle and Akira, haven't seen too much anime. What movie/TV show does your character come from?
  35. stealth2000
I thought stealth sounded cool 9 years ago when I chose it. (smile)

    thinking.today.com
    1. gtally
Has sort of secret agent man ring to it.
  36. dgnitzky
Mine was my initial real name and my nickname
    1. gtally
Pretty straightforward, to say the least.
  37. gagaukon
    love to get drunk
    1. gtally
Is that what gagaukon means? In what language?
  38. ophase
Ophase indicates an experiment called "Zero phase" in physics.
I'm not using zero though. "O" is like zero anyway.
    1. gtally
Now that's a well thought out, cerebral username! Are you a physicist? Did you major in physics? E=MC2 and all that?
    1. gtally
Something we could all use a little more of.
  39. MrsBlog
I found my name while searching a name for the community of international blogging ladies I established.
I didn't want to use 'women' or 'female' in the name (too heavy, too dull) nor make it to 'ladies' (in line with 'Ladies Who Launch').
So MrsBlogInternational looked good and informative.
MrsBlog is a shorten version of it.
haven't checked however how many of MrsBlogs there are at the Web already....
    1. gtally
Why not MsBlog? Is there a Mr.Blog?
    2. MrsBlog
Mrs is known by me much more then Ms (since I have learnt English in Europe).
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mrs.

Mr. Blog would be actual once MrsBlog International mrsbloginternational.ning.com/ goes so well that I will establish the MrBlog community.
Eventually, once I am already a millionaire on those 2, I will establish one more, where all MrsBlogs and all MrBlogs can meet together and the trilogy will be completed!

p.s. in the real life there is no MrBlog yet as my Mr does not blog at all. But I am working on it!
  40. dayflyer
Years back Ken (the techie one on this blog) was learning to fly. He never got as far as learning instrumentation for night and bad weather flying, so he remains a dayflyer.
    1. gtally
Probably safer, anyway. I have a phobia of small planes. How many flight hours has Ken logged, so far?
    2. dayflyer
About 100, but he hasn't flown for some time now, so he'd probably have to get some remedial flying in before being let out on his own again. It's difficult in Greece as all the airports are designated as military ones - do you remember that incident a couple of years ago where people taking photographs of planes were arrested for spying?

He used to be good at bumpy landings!
  41. ckent27
ckent27 = Clark Kent (my love for Superman)
27 = my age at the time I picked that.

Michael Rivers is what I wanted to use, but it wouldn't let me. HAHA
    1. gtally
Faster than a speeding blogger! More powerful than a biting discussion thread! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's SuperMike!
  42. DaivRawks
DaivRawks is a "Hooked on Phonics" variant of "Dave Rocks".

My online nom-de-plume has been "Daiv" since 1987 or so, after a series of typos on online BBS's accidentally took my name from -David to -Davi (with much laughter) to -Daiv which stuck and has been with me ever since.

I saw a band in Chicago from Sweden not much later. I forget their name now, but their introduction was "We're so-and-so... we're from Sweden... and we RAWK!!"

When signing up for some online service, I needed a longer username than simply "Daiv" (too short for their rules), and I thought of that band and "DaivRawks" was born. I've used DaivRawks now, as my "Branded" name on Social Media since 1994. I'm on everything from Squidoo to Twitter with that same name, and it makes it easier for people to find me.
    1. gtally
Cross platform marketing is more powerful and more consistent. I endeavor to do the same.
  43. calais50
My user name was the first thing that popped into my head when I registered. Calais is a city in France and 50 means nothing.
    1. gtally
Have you traveled to Calais? And is it nice?
  44. timethief
The meaning of my first name which was given to me by my maternal grandfather is "strong". It's a reference to the fact that I was a breech birth and that I struggled very hard for my life at birth. In a way it's also a prophetic utterance for that struggle to remain alive has continued throughout my life. My blogging "handle" and BC username is a name I chose that denotes the fact that I have twice stolen my life back from the grim reaper by surviving life threatening situations.
  45. sudam08
I always use my own name in each and every site and never use something out of blue. Here i have used my first name.
    1. gtally
      Honest and forthright.
  46. humanrubberband
My user name is named after the product that my company sells.
    1. gtally
How are they moving in this economy?
    1. gtally
      Cool.I'll check out the post.
  47. robinj
    supreme intelligence honest
    1. gtally
Noble connotation to the UN and something for all of us to aspire to. But is it Robin J or Rob in NJ?
  48. SAHMinIL
SAHMinIL = SAHM (stay at home mom) in IL (Illinois)
    1. gtally
      Again, gotta love the acronyms.
  49. NjailaRhee
Its just my name lol. I'm not creative I guess lol
    1. gtally
Njaila is a great name. I've never heard it before. What does it mean?
  50. Lunais
Lunais = I used to use Luna a lot and wanted to revamp it a bit. So the "French" version came out-->Lunais lol
    1. gtally
I like the thought put into your UN. Are you French? Do you speak French?
  51. Halconite
Mt. Halcon is the fourth highest mountain in the Philippines. Its 2586 meters height towering over the hills and verdant mountains occupies the north-south mountain range of Mindoro Island, my place of birth. Around its slopes are found the eight ethnic minorities with their preserved culture and heritage and unaffected civilization, one of the few remaining here in the Philippines. Generally, these people are called the "Mangyan", the true bloodied “Halconites”.
    1. gtally
Now here is the granddaddy of great answers and evocative thought put into a UN. Now I feel kind of stupid for just dragging my knuckles across the keyboard when I chose my name! What island in the Phillipines is Halconite located?
    2. Halconite
As I have said, I'm in Mindoro. Occidental Mindoro.

      Thanks.
    3. gtally
Whoops! I missed that part. Have you ever climbed the mountain?
    4. Halconite
I do not have the expertise (and physical prowess) to do that. Besides, Mt. Halcon already claimed hundreds of local mountaineer's lives. As an old saying goes, "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.."

I was not able to climb the mountain but I had a lot of chance hearing the real Halconites' fascinating stories about the peak. And I treasure them very much...
    5. gtally
It's interesting you should say that. Two days ago, I saw a slideshow presentation given by someone who climbed Mt. Everest. His photographs of the mountain were beautiful and terrifying at the same time. There are so many ways to die mountain climbing, plus the overall sheer physical effort, it'll never happen for me. But if I ever made it to Kathmandu and then base camp one, that would be plenty good enough for me!
    6. Halconite
A Mangyan tribal leader once told me : "Ikaw ang bundok" (You are the mountain)reminding me that we do not only conquer mountains but ourselves...
    7. gtally
That's profound. I'm writing that down. Words to live by.
    8. Halconite
More of "Ambahan" (Mangyan poetry) just visit: www.mangyan.org/ambahan/index.html Thank you...
  52. Lifeposter
Lifeposter = I post articles about life
    1. gtally
Life in all its myriad possibilities, both good and bad? Or do you accentuate the positive?
  53. umarpirzada
Well UTP is actually be the initials of my full name but I prefer....Uniquely Thought Provoked!!!

I actually have a section on my blog where I take suggestions of different abbreviations.

    Give it a shot www.umarpirzada.com/blog/un-abbreviate-utp/
    1. gtally
How about Utilizing Total Potential? Sounds like a fun game to play.
  54. gentledove
There are so many Gentledoves on the net that when I came up with Totton linnet poem, I adopted it as my new name, unfortunately on B.C you can't change names.
    gentledove2.wordpress.com
    1. gtally
Yeah, much to my chagrin, I've found out that once you've chosen your UN, you're stuck. Wish I'd been a bit more creative. Not familiar with the poet. I'll have to check out Totton Linnet on Wikipedia.
  55. HalfCrazy
Half Crazy. It's a song by a Filipino band, Freestyle. And well, 'Half Crazy' (not the song) kinda describes my personality. Sometimes totally serious, sometimes totally different, I can be mature and immature. And no, I don't have dual personalities LOL.
    1. gtally
Just loads of fun, right? Crazy in a good way.
  56. cnnetc
    My name is taken from
    8posts.blogspot.com/
    1. gtally
And not the Cable News Network? What does it stand for? Is it a technical acronym?
  57. livtotravel
    i have no personalites i guess. www.livtotravel.blogspot.com
    1. gtally
But, it's always good to travel!
  58. fruitcake
I'm crazy...what else would "fruitcake" mean?
    1. crpitt
      Dare I say erm.......... Fruitcake?

You may be a big fan of all thing fruity and cake like

    2. fruitcake
The funny thing is...I hate fruitcake (but that pic makes it look a little yummy ).
    3. crpitt
I like it, but hate the cherries they put in it

Plus hating yourself and/or eating yourself is not healthy...
    4. fruitcake
What can I say...I'm working on it.
    5. crpitt
I wont ask which bit your working on..............
    6. gtally
I think they make fruitcake (the dessert) out of space shuttle tiles or something. It's indestructible. I tried burning one on my backyard grill once and nothing happened.
  59. ArsenicCookies
its the name of the song I was listening to when I signed up. All of my user names are chosen like that
    1. gtally
But what if you'd been listening to the Bangles at the time? Your user name might have been "Walk Like An Egyptian." Too scary to contemplate...
  60. Caliza
Caliza is a combination of my first and middle names (Catherine Elizabeth) and I use it all over the internet for stuff. On the off chance it's taken, I'll use Catliza or CalizaMati (Mati short for Matilda - which is taken from the book Matilda by Roald Dahl).
    1. gtally
Anything by Roald Dahl is a masterpiece. My favorite as a child was "The Twits." So dark and funny at the same time.
  61. Shuttercraft
It is the name of my photography business.
    1. gtally
Is your avatar also your company logo?
  62. ClayrnDarrow
Clay's my name--Darrow is an addon.
    1. gtally
Does "Darrow" mean anything to you? Or did you choose it at random?
  63. carrinepretty
its my call name and im pretty LOL ....*peace!
    hahahaha
    1. gtally
Gotta love a lady who has self confidence!
  64. thebigandyt
gamertag in xbox. Forename and Surname sort of thing. Not Thebi Gandy T like i've previously said though. 'The Big' is just a slight over exaggeration of my roundness
    1. gtally
Or maybe you're just livin' large, thebigandyt!
  65. thebigandyt
    @ gtally
Na, had to give that up. My idea of a wild night now is staying in and messing about on BC
    1. gtally
This is hardcore, man! We're keepin' it real on the streets of BC!
    2. thebigandyt
      I hear ya
  66. theotherwoman
Mine is a label to describe the situation I'm in
    1. gtally
Ouch. Sounds messy. You are the other woman or there is one?
  67. toedrifter
It's a hacky sack trick. Curious folks could see a demo of a drifter at footbag.org, except usually people start to back away slowly when I talk about hacky sack tricks.
    1. gtally
When did you start to play hacky sack? Middle school, high school, or college?
  68. sarahrahman
My own name, which means "Princess."
  69. gtally
I thought that Rahman is the Arabic word for merciful. Does it also mean princess?
    1. sarahrahman
@gtally I wrote the meaning of what Sarah refers to. As for Rahman, true, it means being merciful.
    2. gtally
Thank you for sharing, merciful princess! Sorry about the mix up.
    3. sarahrahman
      @gtally My pleasure
  70. livtotravel
because i love to travel =)
    1. gtally
As long as you're traveling some place fun, then the hassles of travel are outweighed by growing, learning and enjoying new things.
  71. radioflyer1980
Good question! I actually wrote a blog about it once!

    radioflyer1980.wordpress.com/2008/11/23/etymology-of-an-e-mail-address/

For those who don't want to read the whole story, it was my CB handle way back when.
    1. gtally
"Breaker, breaker good buddy. We've got smokies on up the line."

See? I guess watching "BJ and the Bear", "Dukes of Hazard" and "Sheriff Lobo" in my tender young years really paid off! Now, I'm off to listen to "Convoy" on my iPod.
  72. AlanGNW
    Alan - my name
G - the first letter of my surname
NW - north west - I used to live in the NW of England (I don't now so that bit isn't relevant)

Been using the name all over the place since I set it up as my email address on an AOL account many years ago...
    1. gtally
I try to be as consistent with my usernames as possible, because I'm simply too scatterbrained to remember anything different. Sometimes, I use my home state, Colorado, as a variation on "WineCountryInn," so I understand using the whole location aspect as a part of a UN.
  73. delawarebass
It is reflective of what i did and do for a living and where I am located. I am a professional bass angler and radio host, (retired), and a tournament angler. I live in delaware so it is is Delawarebass, indicating where I live and what I fish for-(largemouth bass).
    1. gtally
Simple, straightforward, uses your location, just like me (see above). What's biggest bass you ever caught, and did you mount it on a plaque? And does it sing bad pop tunes like those other novelty talking bass?
    2. delawarebass
That is funny. I caught a 12 pounder in Florida, and I caught one that was almost the state record in delaware at 10.16 pounds.

check out my blog at giantlargemouthbass.blogspot.com

I have pics and videos there as well. Steve That picture is wrong I updated the profile. That was a photo of a trainer I did a site for at Golds gym where I work out.
  74. mentoringbyjenny
mentoringbyjenny is, I am a mentor training people who are in network marketing and needs help to become successful
    and jenny is my name
    1. gtally
What is the difference between a mentor and a life coach? Or is it the same thing?
  75. BikiniHotline
Mine is just a revision of my website name.
    1. gtally
Like it. A direct bit of marketing *and* easy to remember!
  76. HeadStones
My name just has to do with the website I work on most of the time. HeadStonesGenealogy.com
    1. gtally
What area/time period to you work on specifically for headstones?
  77. HeadStones
At this time we are in southern CA. in the Orange County are. We will be up here for about another 6 month to a year then we will be off too a new place. But we do have volunteers in Fl,WA,and OK at this time. Always looking for more. The time frame all depends on size of cemeteries and depending in what gets in the way of life.
  78. JoelKlebanoff
It means "the name, minus my middle name, that my parents gave me when I was born." That's rather long so I just used "Joel Klebanoff", without the space, instead.
    1. gtally
Can we just call you "minus" for short?
    2. JoelKlebanoff
I've been called worse. And that's by my friends.
  79. Jendyptp
Mine is simple - Jendyptp = Jen Did You Pack The Passports? (clearly the answer would be no) but that is indeed my blog address! x
    1. gtally
Makes sense. Do you love to travel?
  80. TVsWorstAdverts
Mine's very cleverly the name of my blog TV's Worst Advert.

Not just a hat rack, my friends...
    1. gtally
Do you remember Dan Ackroyd in "Saturday Night Live" as the slimy TV salesman:
"It's a floor wax and a dessert topping!" What, in your opinion, is the worst advert ever?
  81. austenfan
i think it's pretty obvious, i'm a fan of jane austen.
    1. gtally
Really? Which one of hers is your favorite novel?
  82. rosevictor
well rose for the street before you turn on to get to my house and victor for my real name
    1. gtally
Rose is a nice name for a street. So what do you prefer, Victor or Vic?
  83. Shiley
It means I am wonderful at typoing my name. Shirley.
    1. gtally
      Either way, we love ya!
  84. MadScientist
No great mystery here... I like to experiment with energy, gravity, and physics. These are my favorite reading topics as well. So I have always loved LAB COATS so... my personal vision was that of the classic carzy hair'ed nutso scientist.
    1. gtally
Do you ever rub your hands together, plan world domination and let out an evil mad scientist laugh?

Here's my mad scientist laugh: MWAH, HAH, HAH, HAH!

It helps if you curl your fingers and claw the air a bit, and bolts of lightning flash dramatically behind you.
    2. jshaw1134
You love lab coats? I can totally relate, I love aprons, and perhaps that's because of my love of baking and cooking. I would LOVE a full wardrobe of aprons, as I'm sure you'd love many lab coats
    3. MadScientist
You know... now that you put it like that... kind of makes me sound a bit like a cross dresser... NOT THAT THERE IS ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT... IF its your thing. But its not really mine.

I guess the lab coat just makes you look smart. Might be the pocket protector too...or the really BIG Texas Instruments Calculator sticking out of the pocket... Quenticential NERD
  85. austenfan
@gtally: persuasion. mansfield park comes in 2nd.
  86. jshaw1134
It's my first initial, my last name and 1134 is a time that my husband and I see a lot. We used to long distance date, and we'd talk morning and late night, and it just seemed like around that time when we'd look at the clock it would be exactly 11:34. Honestly, no other time stands out. It can be mid-morning on a weekend and I'll be cleaning and I haven't looked at a clock since I've woken up and I'll just walk through the kitchen and glance, and there is 11:34 staring back at me.
    1. gtally
      Sweet story. Like your UN!
  87. educatedvagabond
An educated vagabond was a term created by my friend Bess. She explained she is an educated vagabond because she travels the world, never settling in one place for too long or really unpacking, but always pursuing an education in the process. The education is academic but also based on worldly experiences.

Like Bess, I continue to travel in pursuit of an education that is academic, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. I am an educated vagabond!
    1. gtally
A good philosophy to live by, and a nice way of life.
  88. Shy
    Ummm that I am shy?
    1. gtally
      Makes sense to me!
  89. warnie
Nothing exciting for me. Warnie after the Australian cricketer - one of my two nicknames when I lived in Melbourne!
    1. gtally
I once had a cat named Elway, after Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway. Same thing, sort of.
  90. sandilynn1975
well...I'm not that original. My first and middle name and year I was born. =/
    1. gtally
Hey, my user name was so unoriginal, I might as well have dragged my knuckles across the keyboard. Ah, well...
  91. codesucker
    I'm glad you asked!
My name does require a bit of explaination..

It means I literally suck on code.. like put it in my mouth and suck on it until I understand it..

    I dunno
  92. rocketrobin
It is my pool and snooker nickname.
  93. ToniTMTaylor
It' my name and my two middle intials...my dad couldn't make up his mind
  94. mybrainrunslinux
My brain is more like a Linux box than anything else, because it can do many things at the same time quickly, but requires lots of attention and understanding as to exactly what it's doing. Also, it rarely falls prey to the nasty "viruses" of narrow-minded thinking, blatant ignorance, and naivete. There's a different and more general explanation of why everyone's brain is like a Linux server on my blog also in case anyone is interested.
  95. vijayanths
    vijayanths:

    vijay- My first son's name.

anth-last four letters of my second son's name.

s- the first letter of my name shankar.

(I chose it taking into account numerology)
  96. MountainSage
Mine is the same name as my blog which I picked because I live in the mountains and I love to burn sage incense.
  97. honeymoonapples
i made mine after hurricane katrina hit. i needed a new e-mail b/c my e-mail was hosted by my school, tulane, and their server was done for weeks/months. i was at a friends grandmas' house far away from my home, feeling low, and i opened a book of poems and the first one i saw was one called honeymoon apples. i liked it.
  98. ReachingMyDreams
I've had my domain name forever, and finally decided to do something with it. I like to keep my usernames fairly consistent. I feel that ReachingMyDreams reflects who I am becoming, even if my dreams change :-)
