Ok, Ive joined this blog directory. Added people to my network, participated in discussions, visited other websites, left comments and other activities.
What else do you normally do to bring traffic to your website using blog catalog?

I was in mybloglog... but there was no fun and so i deleted my account.

You haven't visited mine yet - as dosox says - keep doing what you're doing and they will come.
I've found it a very slow experience but then i don't post here every day so only myself to blame or my topic isn't a majority favourite??? -
If you get tired of doing the above, and feel frustrated - why not get yourself a gimmick to attract some new attention to your site? Like a talking monkey with a wooden leg. Because seriously, who else is gonna have one of those? Good luck, and keep your chin up. -
The discussion boards are here for you to network and make new friends. It helps to know other bloggers better and helps you discover new blogs.
And when you discover a new blog you like, make sure you leave your comments !

Yup be active... expose yourself to the world of blogging... write good post, especially if they are unique you will get lots of referrals...
keep people interested in your blog by putting varied, useful or fun post that will keep them coming back and bring you new visitors...
join meme's that interest you and not just do it 'coz you feel it's obligatory do...
BLOG BECAUSE YOU LOVE IT not be so obsessed with traffic...

These sound like valid reasons. jaffermaniar and earthlingorgeous are you on other blog directories or blogging social medias? Would it be appropriate to know which ones?

krzkrzkrz i hang around Blog Catalog most of the time rarely go to mybloglog I am there lol. I have multiply and myspace but rarely go there too. I love Blog Catalog more than any social blogging sites really coz it's always alive. Never a dull moment, even if people have misunderstanding sometimes, well, it means they are real people, have some good days and bad days, like me

earthlingorgeous, i hear people are on 5-10 and sometimes 20 blog directories or blog social medias. To me this sounds a bit of an overkill. Then again im still trying to build for descent traffic

well there are free blog directories out there you can sign up just add your blog to their directory if you want more traffic that is but I not expert in this area really I just do what I want

I think Timetief posted something about this and even Jaffer made a post before too on their blogs... ask they they know ... me I am just a hobbyist blogger do anything I like try everything I want it's a personal blog that I dump whatever I like -

I even publish posts to my twitter account and facebook account. -
You are doing really good, keep working on that and additionally open your own activities for the others to interact with you and your site.
