When I was a kid there was a television show called "Sea Hunt." Lloyd Bridges was a diver named Mike Nelson. It was great! Maybe if I saw it now I wouldn't think so, but every year or so I search DVDs and it's never been recorded. It vexes me why it hasn't made it but Gilligan has!
I guess I had a boring moment today as well. -
I miss the DP7. www.shooterswork.com/newu/dp7.htm

I saw Max headroom for the first time not all that long ago. It sounds like it was a ground breaker.

Here ya go- en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Headroom_(TV_series)
It was pretty ahead of its time in terms of predicting technology and where marketing/media would end up.

What happened to music and why does the radio spew out so much crap that it's been rendered useless to me? What happened to walking outside and not getting sunburnt? What happened to family values and family oriented programming on the television? What happened to honesty? What happened to marriage?

What ever happened to Georgie Pie?
And now that I've said that I realise that I'm possibly the only person that knows what Georgie pie actually is -

Whatever happened to feeling safe in your own neighbourhood - enough to let your kids go outside and play all day unsupervised, and not having to lock your car when you quickly duck into the shops to pick something up.

Slinkys, you never see a slinky any more. There was a time in the 80's that every staircase in the known world could boast at least one slinky, we were living through some kind of slinky golden age and we never even knew it. We never knew it.

You reminded me, Melinda- I was watching the movie "Manhunter" the other night-- basically the first version of Thomas Harris' Red Dragon. And it was done either in the late 80s or early 90s.
The characters walked through a grocery store cereal aisle. And on the shelves were:
Mr. T and E.T. cereals.
I had totally forgotten about those! -
This rather reminds me of "Wacky Packs" - which were bogus advertisements for well known products. For example:

And:

We need these send ups, they're fun.
