What is Blog Rank?
how can 'Blog Rank' help my site?

Its used by blogcatalog to rank blogs within the directory, it takes into account a lot of things like hits to your blogs profile, hits to your site from here, views of your blog profile and a few other things. It will also represent where you show in a category on blogcatalog.-

nothing to do with optimizing your blogs really unless you want to make sure you have tagged it right and added somedecent titles.
But usually being active in the discussions will help it to improve -
