I'm curious... Do we choose who we are with by looks, money, personality, timing or other means? And how has that changed over the time you've been together?

@Dane, just go for the eyes, no need to change your religion.

Erm.....the fact that she liked me!

Actually we met in Bulgaria and as soon as I saw her big....blue eyes I melted and fell in love and two years later we married!

Her hair. I know that sounds weird. But she had beautiful long and blond hair. Yeah, we're not together anymore.

We have total awareness of each other. We are in tune and both being musicians, we have balance, harmony, melody and so we're walking in rhythm.

opposite attracts for my significant other..now, i just have to deal with the fact that we live in a total opposite lifestyle but sometimes it is good to have a whole different point of view in life.

Not looks. We were best friends and I didn't find him attractive at all. Once I fell in love with him, there was nobody more beautiful to me.

Her lovely long, tenned, shapely legs protruding from a mini-skirt. She fell asleep sitting on my lap and I knew that she felt comfortable with me. We've been best friends ever since.

Things are different now after such a long time together, but she's still my best friend and I consider myself very lucky to have spent most of my life with her. I was very lucky and continue to be lucky. Hey, she's lucky too, I'm a man in a million

    He kept following me around.

We met on line and corresponded for 5 weeks before meeting face-to-face. I was attracted by his wit, intelligence, straightforwardness, playfulness and humility...he said he was "ordinary looking" but when I first laid eyes on him, approaching the restaurant where we were to meet, I said "that can't be him...he's too cute!"

He turned out to be even better in person than he was on line. We've been married five years now.

My brother met his wife online too - he is South African and she is American

They chatted for about a year, fell in love without meeting even... when he visited her he proposed 12 days after meeting her for real... they have two kids and have been married 6 years now.

    Intuition.

Her eyes, a bit feisty, a common interest and really broad shoulders (literally and metaphorically). And now? Same things ... but surer and deeper. (And, to be honest, great sex).

I think it was the whole package really.. and I am meaning personality and attraction and all. It certrainly wasn't job or finance... but that isn't what atracts me to someone - how much their wallet bulges. He was keen on me, made it known, we met and married in ten months. We are the best of friends and cannot get enough of eachother, and have recently celebrated 7 years of marriage

Is it right to say that I fell in love with him from the very first time? Love at first sight. really!

The voices inside my head said to me "THAT'S the man you're going to marry."
Plus he looked like he could kill somebody and not blink an eye and I needed protection.

I really don't remember what attracted me to my wife but we met on Yahoo Personals and I had made the first contact. I had four photos posted and one was of me holding my Silky Terrier. She later admitted that the reason she replied to me was, "Any man that could make a dog look that happy would treat a woman good."
