I can eat just about everything, but there's one (so-called) food, I can't stomach. It's Vegamite.

Do you have a food that you hate?

    1. SilverSpikes
      I used to too - then my partner introduced me to lightly microwaved (ie NOT over cooked and soggy) bowls of peas, with a dash of butter, and a sprinkle of cheese!

  4. MarkPogue
    Eggs!! Fried, scrambled, boiled, poached or any other way.
  5. JillSaxon
    onions, bell peppers, and garbanzo beans! *makes a face*

    An aside: My mom was really into juicing at one point. Her and my Aunt thought it would be cool to mix tomatoes, bell peppers, and carrots together. Guess who the taste-tester was?

    Mashed potatoes - and we're Irish!

    I hate liver and when I was a kid I had to be force fed orange food. When I was thirteen my mom quite force-feeding me liver and orange foods and it took my until I was in my 40s to eat anything orange again. Now I love them. Liver I still haven't tried again. Just the smell of it makes me want to vomit.

    I've never heard of vegamite. What food group is it in?
    1. robertstevenson
      It's Austrailian. It's spread on bread. To me, it tastes like tin foil.
    2. SilverSpikes
      I'm with you on the liver thing!!

      aye worse than a north lincolnshire side getting into the premiership
    3. aningeniousname
      Don't worry Grimsby have as much chance as Leeds of getting to the promised land of the premiership.
    4. crkian
      Grimsby? Dont you need a passport to get there. Or at least a fish gutter
    5. aningeniousname
      I never go it's where the untermensch live and it smells of fish and polyester.
    6. crkian
      Can you smell it from 'ull as we can from here
    7. aningeniousname
      Yeah! That's why uninformed people say 'ull smells. It's not 'ull they are smelling it's the wind carrying it from Grimsby.
    8. crkian
      But you do add to the smell
    9. aningeniousname
      Well I can't argue with that.
  16. nardeeisms
    It's a toss up: hominy or pork brains and scrambled eggs- couldn't PAY me to eat either one! My dad loves them both. - Nards
  17. wehireu
    I hate lima beans and lychee nuts.
  18. markstoneman
    Hate is a strong word, but I won't eat anchovies or calimari if I am not in immediate danger of starvation.

    Edit: I like Marmite.
  19. ekim941
    Okra. It's like tadpoles with their heads cut off. And where the hell does that slimy stuff come from? Nah, that stuff just isn't right.
    1. markstoneman
      I loves me some okra. Yummmm.
  20. exinco
    i hate crab, you know why
  21. bsilvia
    leek, onion, pork, oysters and shrimps! :-P
  22. Eric18
    fake cheese from tofu or soy. Soy burgers. Soy sausages.

    Try something once, feel awful, and never try again. Right?
  23. ShanLeeCook
    spinach is disgusting
  24. genopianist54
    egg, milk, cheese...
  25. Shiley
    fish. It's not that I hate it but if I eat it, it can kill me. I won't eat seafood.
  26. ChrissyJo
    Ketchup, Mustard, Mayo, basically any condiment. I like the natural taste of foods.
  27. zawadi
    I hate Bananas, and lot's of fruits, I would prefer vegetables.
    I don't know why but allot of fruits make me vomit Bananas are nauseating.
  28. BellyDanceGirl
    Liver and aspic - I never had aspic until Christmas '06 at my boyfriend's family's dinner. It's traditional for them to have tomato aspic. I tried the tiniest bite and almost vomited - quite embarrassing. No one seemed to have been bothered that I did not take any this year.
  29. gosmelltheflowers
    Liver AND marmite AND peanut butter.
  30. calais50
    squid, black pudding, cucumbers, celery, oysters, collard greens, beef liver (I like chicken liver)
    1. legbamel
      The one time I ate liver, I seriously was so nauseous that I had to leave the table. My husband and eldest ate my share, and that of my similarly-sick youngest. We hid in the living room until it was gone. I swear, it took three days to get that smell out of the kitchen. [shudders]

      I also won't eat salmon in any form or eat any raw fish or seafood, especially oysters. I'll murder some mahi mahi, but it's got to be grilled to a turn first.
  31. citrine
    I couldn't think of anything until calais50 mentioned black pudding; I haven't even tried it, just the look of it and knowing what it is makes me unable to eat it. Also haven't tried brains of any kind (unless its been mixed in sausage or ground meat without my knowledge).

    ~~~
    Long live okra and marmite (but not together)!
  32. Theresa111
    Vile pork recipes. Vile beef recipes. Raw fish or sushi. Sweet potatoes. Okra. Lima beans are hard to swallow, but I can eat them once a year. Blue cheese. Vile lamb dishes. Pet animals dishes. Most Mexican or Thai food, as they usually smell good but burn my mouth. Cilantro. Hot peppers. I am certain there are more choices.
  33. TheMrs
    Lima beans and stewed tomatoes.
    Not necessarily in that order.
  34. reasonablerobinson
    anything with chilli or garlic in it - they make me feel hungover and they cause ro hallucinate when trying to get to sleep which means I don't get any sleep which means I feel hungover which means I hate garlic and chilli
  35. Getty72
    Liver and Kidney... other than that, everything is sooooo yummy.
  36. Grooveycraft
    cottage cheese, its just gross!
    I'm sure there is more I don't like but can't think of any right now.
  37. jessblabber
    licorice allsorts and offal from any kind of animal, especially when it's presented like it's some kind of culinary delight
  38. jafabrit
    I loathe mutton or liver.
  39. robertstevenson
    This only slightly fits this category, but I hate that I'm lactose intolerant. I can drink soy milk or lactose free milk, but it's harder to find good lactose free ice cream.
  40. DeadRooster
    Ice cream with marshmallows in it. WHY do they do that?
    Also, I really hate yams.
  41. chicky401
    I would say liver and lima beans. yuck
  42. angryasiancookie
    pork; hom; liver; anything with loads of grease
  43. myriadlife
    Ox tongue has always given me the heebeejeebees. How can anyone eat a lolloping great tongue? I don't eat any meat anymore and now I think of it as a bit gross to do so and I was a meat eater for nearly 40 years. Doesn't bother me that other people do though.
