We often pride ourselves in our accomplishments. Where I am at right now, many of the people I graduated high school with are getting married and starting to have children. I have yet to experience either of those moments.

So, I ask, what are you waiting to occur in your life? Are there "major moments" you have yet to experience?

    Let's see...I've been married, divorced, widowed, had children and grandchildren, married a younger man, moved half way across the world...I guess great-grandchildren are next, as my oldest grandchild has recently become engaged.

    nothingprofound will be speaking for me today. I was considering getting one of those LifeALert necklaces. Then I realized I was not a celebrity over the age of 50 and so I'm feeling pretty safe that the Grim Reaper is focusing his efforts elsewhere...

      I have been alive in this body for over 50 years, and recounting the events if my life both good and bad would surely comprise a very large book. I am not waiting for "major moments" to occur. I'm living my life consciously in the present moment, not in the past and not in the future either. I'm also keenly aware that my so-called "accomplishments" will count for next nothing when I'm gone. What will count is what I brought to my relationships with others.

      Hopefully, I will be remembered for these qualities:
      authentic generosity (charitable giving of the self and sharing of possessions, donation);
      selfless love and good will toward all beings (loving kindness);
      compassion (respect, acceptance, forgiveness);
      altruistic joy filled with peace and contentment (appreciative joy at the success and good fortune of others);
      abstaining from physical and vocal actions that cause harm to myself and others;
      equanimity (an inclusive state of open mind free of attachment, aversion, bigotry, craving, ignorance and intolerance);
      resilience and flexibility (the abilities required to cope with stress and catastrophe by recovering readily from adversity, depression, or the like and adapt to all life changes with grace and dignity).

    Well, I've been married twice, divorced twice, have a beautiful tween daughter, a sweet siamese cat, I left my last job to work at home, I've started a career at college. But there are 3 things that not happended to me yet:
    1) I couldn't find a comfortable and cheap appartment yet.
    2) I couldn't travel abroad, I've always wanted to know London and Paris.
    3) I couldn't find the right time to say "I fell in love with you" to a special man (the best friend of my ex husband).

    I think any of the 3 can come true some day. It's a matter of time, effort, patience and a little luck.

    Cheers!

    Well, I've never kissed anyone, or had a boyfriend. I've never been to a club...I've never driven on the highway. That's pretty much all I need to do at this point!
