I have cut on eating out with my family because of the high gas prices. I am a lot more cautious when I go to the store....I suppose it is a good thing....

I have cut down driving. If the government would cut down its spending we could add value back to the dollar and make gas more affordable, but I guess thats for another thread.

I don't drive as much, but luckily I don't have to drive too far to work. I don't do as much travelling on the weekends now tho.

Trees! Since there is less co2 emmissions with people driving less we need to keep the atmospher balance

    OK just kidding - sorta

ALOT of driving (I am like Pavlov's dog nowadays when I approach a gas pump), wall a lot more, make sure I turn off electricity, use less air conditioning, and pray (in my own sort of way).

Try hypermiling. I've increased my mileage by about 30% using very simple techniques.

I changed jobs for the summer, I would have had to go into D.C. or Baltimore daily a commute, no full time class this summer do I don't have to be in D.C. daily so this saves a ton, and I walk to work and can come home for lunch.

    Polybore -

Thanks. The seminal post is here:

Your post hits the major tenants of hypermiling. If folks heed your advice they could see great gains in mileage. I get most of my info from:

Cheers. I put a comment on your compost post with a link to my vermicompost post. Yummy compost.

Well, an average drink at Starbuck's is about the same for a gallon of gas... it's just difficult to choose which one will get me going in the morning!

Funnily enough your avatar is on my TV at the moment. Quite a coincidence considering we only have 4 TV channels.
