What inspire/s you? In the newspaper today, I read that a shopping mall decoration which won a grand prize in my country was inspired by a book. Feel free to look at the decoration at steptpg.blogspot.com
P.S. This is not shameless Blog promotion.
I am more interested in what inspire/s a person.

It depends on what's being inspired.
For things with a deadline, the (concern? fear?) of what will happen if I don't finish on schedule.
One of my blogs is inspired by my daily dives through the Web. There's an amazing and fascinating wealth of pages out there - as well as a great deal of dross. But I ignore that part.
The seemingly inexhaustibly vast capacity of people, individually and collectively, for genius and nitwittery, courage and alternative responses to stress, and all the rest of the human condition, inspires me to keep coming back to my ongoing project of creating a work of fiction that someone will want to read.
Another blog is inspired by my concern over what what I trust is a tiny element of Islam's efforts to impose their beliefs by force.
Yet another blog is inspired by my memories of angst-riddled, self-important wannabe artists I met during my college days. The problem with that one is that it's surprisingly hard for me to get in the right frame of mind for it lately.
Whoa! That was a long response.
Which brings me to another of my inspirations: I like to talk, and by extension, to write. -

The thought of making some self-righteous Fundamentalist Christian cry because I made them question their beliefs by pointing out historical facts often inspires me to write.

exactally.. absurd, but interesting... i couldn't do it... rather...wouldn't want to do it...
..well... i would like to magically get impregnated.. that'd woek out for me real well! -
Money is a nice motivator. I'd like to have some money right now.
I'm also inspired by stories of good vs evil. Epics are cool.
And of course my faith. I think just about all my stories end up with some bit of Christianity in them. (Some more so than others.) -
Catherine Benincasa of Sienna inspires me.
She was fearless. She wasn't afraid "to speak truth to power". She had backbone, intelligence, cared for people and proved it with her life, as she did proving her love for God. She only lived to be 33 years old, but altered lives and changed history in those brief years.
She said,
'When we are whom we are called to be, we will set the world ablaze.'
'Everything comes from love, all is ordained for the salvation of man, God does nothing without this goal in mind.' -
Music, colors, sunsets, cats: these are my favorite muses. I always come up with creative art ideas when i encounter any of these.

Other blogs inspire me! Also, television, books (especially trips to the local library), and radio (NPR) are incredibly inspiring!

Recently I found the picking up a good book will do the trick. I was struck with writers block until I picked up a book and read some of it, I didn't get far because I was inspired to work on a post for my weekly blog.

Everything and anything, something will trigger it and I need to put it into visual form. The love of how something looks, anger, news, beauty, colour, a word, an issue, a phrase, an event.
I wanted my daughter to apologize for something and she wouldn't (not a serious argument or anything) and I told her she would eat crow. I made a painting of her with a 3D image of her tongue sticking out and dangling from her tongue was a wire and at the end canvas crow I painted. The painting was named the Apology, and we laugh about it every time we see it. I got my apology. -
Sometimes it's things going wrong; one of my favorite blog entries, "Lament of the Generic Villain", was a result of having had a very, very bad day, and of me going into a rant on how it was almost enough to drive me evil, only I knew perfectly well how it would end. Somewhere in the middle of this, my boyfriend tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Use that."

What inspires me? hmmmm, well if it isnt Teague, oh who's Teague you ask, he's the leprechaun that lives in my ears. If it isnt some mythological creature then it would probably be my guitar. When I play it ideas just start popping up where they then ooze out of my head and splash land on paper where I then post them up for your reading pleasure.

Jesus, my family, and my surroundings!
(I consider the disabled children I foster as part of my family) -
Nature (in SO many ways,) my husband & nephews, hearing that a distant friend is coming to visit, when I'm commended at work, when I do well, artistically (sell a painting, get a photo published in the paper, win an award, etc., etc.)

Life, society, surroundings ...
... if we look around there are enough things that are inspirational. -

I get my inspirations from a beautiful song or a piece of classical music, or photo/painting, or after reading a thought-provoking book/article. Seasons inspire me, too, as they bring certain moods and thoughts. I also get inspired by reading a recipe or a smell or look of particular food or dish. So I guess, I am inspired by life around me.

I get my inspiration from my desire to give back to the world. I've had a hard live growing up as a child, this went on well into my young adult years. Thats when I finally began to put the correct pieces of the puzzle together. So now at the age of 56 years old I want to help the younger generation to not make the same mistakes I did.
