I really dig somafm.com
Have listened to them for years. Especially - Groove Salad. Unfortunately, many people are interested in putting the free internet radio stations out of business. In addition, the recent economic situation has caused many to not continue due to ridiculously extortionate royalty fees etc. Support your favorite station and spread the word to share with others to find these great stations & support them. Free radio is one of the last great Freedoms we have. Do your part.
Tell me what station you like. Let's all do our part to save free radio. Thanks.
Check out Soma FM.

Unfortunately, you will have to wait till semester starts before you hear anything on there.

pandora.com it allows you to enter a song, an artist or a genre and build a station around that. after you have been using it awhile (and giving thumbs up to the songs you like and thumbs down to the songs you don't) it gets to know your tastes really well and many times plays only songs you love.

Yea, I really dig Pandora as well. It is piped in a few of my favorite hangouts too. I will set it up at home now. Thanks for reminding me and sharing.

I'm with lib on this one. Gotta love customizable radio stations.

Good point. Will Pandora allow you to create multiple stations around your choices? From what I can tell after checking it out it looks like it will categorize it in a particular genre.

Yes, I like Pandora, too. But I'll try the SOMA one, because it reminds me of the way the South of Market Area in San Francisco used to be, back when it was growing up.

Off the top of my head I think I have 5 or 6 different stations on pandora. You can make them as random as you want by adding what they call variety to the station, basically giving it another music comparison besides that which you started the station with. You only get about 40 hours free a month though.

Cool. Thanks for clearing that up for me. This is good stuff. Although, I could chew up that 40 hours pretty quick sometimes.
