Since I wrote a post Christmas gift for a boyfriend internet-dating-guru.blogspot.com/2008/12/christmas-gifts-for-boyfriend-ide... I thought about what I would give my boyfriend for Christmas and figured since I am celebrating with my own family and won't see him for Christmas I ordered a wall calendar for 2009 featuring his favorite swimsuit model and am having it shipped to his house from Amazon. Now, my girlfried says "this is tacky!!! Cancel your order immediately!"
What do you think? Is it a bad gift for a guy? What IS a great gift for a guy in your opinion?

A wall calendar? I generally give a wall calendar to someone like - the school janitor. I agree with your girlfriend - a wall calendar? To your boyfriend? How long has he been your boyfriend? Why aren't you his favorite model? A wall calendar?

nine months....... what would be a better gift? My girlfriend tells me I should go over there and cook for him a full blown dinner. I am spending time with my kids and their family, so this option is out.
"Why aren't you his favorite model?" LOL - I am talking about a celebrity model. I think giving my own picture for Christmas would definitely be tacky. He can see me all he wants and it doesn't have to be a special occasion for me to give him my pic -
If you are going for the "full blown dinner" coupon .. why not make your own card (print your face on it) and put 1 2 3 on it, for three dinners. Put a disclaimer on it "Must be carried on your person at all times until claim"
Personally, there are three kinds of gifts that I like to receive ..
1) one that you can't really tell or even show other people - that's between the two of you only
2) one that you can tell other people about it, but not show them (your dinner would fall under this category)
3) stuff that I really need, say electric razor, clothes, car starter, etc (that I would buy anyway, and everyone will see and know
Gifts that I personally don't like to receive
1) ones that you had to ask me what I want for christmas or my birthday (I leave enough clues - I may as well buy it)
2) chocolate truffles

Well, As I know all boys need only one thing from their Girlfriend, Give him something extra.. you better know what... It brings a inner smile on his face..

PS: ... speaking of your christmas post on your site ... I would be curious to know how your traffic is coming along for this site - because now I have to scroll down FOUR pages to get to the content and even FIVE pages scrolled down after the comment field. It's not user friendly anymore. Also, I would never click any of those links with the tinyURLs .. TinyURLs are for shortening URLs to get to your site .. not to mask affiliate links on the site (i.m.h.o.)

actually that makes people stay on the page longer. they have to work hard to scroll all the way down, so they don't easily leave. There is also a widgit where recent posts titles come up and they click and go onto reading more posts. My time on site has gone up and bounce rate gone down. As far as amount of traffic on that Christmas post, as you can imagine, people are looking for Christmas gifts (not so much now as a couple of weeks ago, but still rolling in)

Um...if I have to scroll at all to find the content on a site, I leave.
ONE...and ONLY one...row of ads above the text will keep me long enough to start reading. I will scroll past another row of ads after a couple of paragraphs just so I can keep reading, assuming the text is compelling enough. And, after a couple of more paragraphs, if the text is still holding my intestest, I'd be willing to scroll down past a couple of rows of ads.
But if the text of your copy is not visible when the site opens, I leave.
And I don't come back.

One of the best boyfriend/husband gifts I ever gave was a coupon book.
Each coupon was for a specific month of the year (Valid from January 1 2009 to January 31, 2009 inclusive, for example) and specified a romantic something he could exchange it for. A one-hour massage, something he particularly likes in the way of sexual activity, breakfast in bed, etc.
It was a BIG hit! -
Yes, I think your choice of a gift is inappropriate. I'd expect a gift like that from a guy friend, not a girlfriend. From a girlfriend, it is...well...tacky.
If you wanna go kinky, the best option is always underwear. Or you can buy a costume for sexy role play. Something you would like to see him in. -
