Topics: bedside stand, sleep, wake
I was in bed and looked over at my bedside stand and thought of why I have chosen those items to look at before I sleep and when I wake up.
One item I have is my baby picture. I think this reminds me to be gentle to myself.

A bottle of water, a light bulb, a bottle of children's motrin, my camera, a lamp, a ceramic butterfly and a CD I need to return to my sister.
I really only "chose" one of them...they're all just passing through except the lamp (which is a necessity) and the butterfly, which my daughter made for me years ago. -
I made a tile that was 'baked' and used my favorite colors yellow and orange in swirls with my sons names on it. I look at it and i feel happy and connected to them with such deep love.
I have stones each with a positive word on it, such as truth, faith, wisdom and believe. I have incence and a burner.
maybe in a sense these are positive affirmations. -
Lamp, CD player, 1-2 CDs, alarm clock, 2-3 books and a lighter (you never know when the light will go off during monsoon season).

A box of tissues and that's it. I went on a cleaning spree last weekend.
The week before that there was a stack of books, lots of documents, tin box of Altoids, and 2 squeaky toys for my dog to fetch. That's not to mention the stack of books and magazines on the floor next to the nightstand, and the little bags of almonds, brazil nuts, cashews, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds wedged in between the books. -
Right now just Nancy Grace's new book (maybe not so new but I just bought it) The Eleventh Victim, a candle, alarm clock and a few of my youngest daughters favorite books, we like to read in my mommies bed before bed, apparently her bedroom doesn't have the right lighting for reading at night...lol
