Can anyone really describe it well? There are different kinds of love if I'm correct. There is friendship love yes, but what about true deep love? Is it sacrificial, determined, kind? What do you think?

love is knowing that your feelings are completely requited and you miss someone even if your away from them for a day. i dont have anyone personally that i "love" as in a boyfriend.. but i love my friends very much and i know they love me just the same and miss me as much as i miss them when were not together.. which is barely ever

It is impossible to set a standard definition on love. It is dependent on the individual describing it.
I'm currently taking a class, Philosophy of Love, and we've been discussing how we look for paternal, unconditional love. This is just a type of love, because there are many. But, to totally define it would be to destroy it for certain people. -
Love is something that someone gives you when they see you as a source to their needs. Once this source is unable to supply the bird flies the coupe.
That's just one example.

A high school textbook once defined love simply as "a strong emotional feeling or attachment", but I think most people would object due to the fact that strong emotions can be so fleeting. No one wants to think they're in love only to find out a few weeks later that the feeling is no longer there. In such a situation, we might say that we had a crush or liked someone. Much of the problem with defining the word "love" is that we hold it to such high standards, but it makes sense; the meaning of a word isn't just what the dictionary tells us, but the connotation that the word receives from the era and society it exists in. In these times, if you say you're in love, people expect you to have something to show for it. It's a matter of not being duped by the words alone, or being fooled by a moment of passion. Maybe you're inspired to become a better person, or you've begun to pursue a meaningful new activity. Maybe you're doing special things for the one you're in love with. Then there's unrequited love, or love that hasn't been revealed yet. Again, we'd expect that there's something to show for it, even if the effects are negative. I think people will believe that love is present if the effects are notable and lasting.

I always answer this question this way...
Love is a verb. It's an action. You can love hard, you can love selfishly, or passionately, tenderly, or not at all. It's how you do it, that defines it.
It's really up to the person who you want to give your love to, to answer this question in the best possible way. What I think you need to do to love me is no doubt going to be different than what your last relationship required of you. A lot of things will be similar. But it's still a personal definition that we need in order to love accordingly. -

CHORUS:
What is love
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
What is love
Yeah
Oh I don't know
why you're not fair
I give you my love
but you don't care
So what is right
and what is wrong
gimme a sign
(chorus x2)
uoh oh...
Oh I don't know
what can I do
what else can I say
it's up to you
I know we're one
just me and you
I can't go on
(chorus x2)
uoh oh..
What is love
What is love
What is love
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
Don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
I want no other
No other love
This is your life
our time
When we are together
I need you forever
Is it love
(chorus x2)
uoh oh..
(chorus x2)
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
Baby don't hurt me
Don't hurt me
no more
