I don't know the "why". I've learned this about "how":

    be

    H onest
    O pen
    W illing

Mr. Rivy those are words to live by. I like the way you think. I am also a supporter of the "how". Have recently written a poem about this. Take a look and tell me what you think if you wish to do so.

Rivertilt, I checked your blog. A good layout. And left a brief comment on your poetry. You speak directly and well.

And thank you, Holly, for your words.

Thank you very much for your kind comment. I am happy you liked the poem and understood it

I think that if you seek the why, even if you never come to an absolute answer, the search will lead you to a better 'how.'
    1. R1VERT1LT
What really matters is not why we live our life.
It is how we live our why.
What really matters is to make the seconds count,
      while time is passing by.
    2. mariosa
Smart point of view that you have thought about the subject. Answer the why is difficult in a big scale but in our live it is important because give us a reason to live, later you search the how, check it and resolve how to live your life because I know who Iam and what need for the future.
  3. MissSuzie
Neither. I'm a "what" and "who" kind of person: What will I accomplish while I'm here and who will I accomplish it with?
    1. mariosa
They are the answers for the why.

'How' is more important than 'Why'
    1. R1VERT1LT
      Indeed!
  5. DougP
Before deciding how to exist, doesn't it make sense to try to determine why you exist?
    1. mariosa
the how is the past and the present, you dont start from nothing, we talk about life in progress, we dont born to be a superstar. Mothers say that but is not true you know.
    2. R1VERT1LT
Looking for a "why?" is one of the many "hows?" you can choose in your life.
  6. nothingprofound
That one exists is more important than how or why.
  7. Floormodel
how we are and how we act toward others is more important than why we are here.
  8. amitchopra22
why we exist :-- to save nature, to save love, to serve old age men and women.
how we exist :- dreams and thoughts of future make us to live in present.
    1. newblogmogul
      Well put amitchopra22.
    2. R1VERT1LT
I like the way you think

Ask the man upstairs he will give you the answer you are looking for. It may take a while but he will answer.
    1. R1VERT1LT
By the man upstairs do you mean my neighbour? lol
  10. R1VERT1LT
my point is that our "how" justifies our "why". We are what we do.
  11. harveyavatar
The way I see it, the how is the realm of psychology and science, whereas the why is the realm of first philosophy (aka metaphysics of Being). Hence, I would go for Why.

Well I don't care which is more important its Friday and I'm here and I'm gonna dance.....

I hope you have a good time this weekend

The how questions seek deeper meaning and understanding.
  14. R1VERT1LT
Thank Nothing Profound, Francein and Mz.More for taking the time to write a comment on my poem "Why?" :)I am glad you all liked it.
  15. HollytheHousewife
Of course u know I loved it. I didn't comment bc it won't let me...

How for sure - How can I make anothers journey better reads so much better than Why should I.....why bother? How can I not bother? Definately the HOW. The How teaches/encourages us to search for better Whys and greater joy in the journey
    1. R1VERT1LT
I see a trend towards the "how"
    2. harveyavatar
Fashion is often misguided imo. Becoming is the HOW and Being is the WHY. Becoming is only intelligible in the light of Being.
  17. dbowles1017
It's not about how or why, it's about the journey.
    1. R1VERT1LT
Mr. Bowles.... the "how" is the journey.
    2. dbowles1017
I was just trying to sound all philosophical. Way to ruin it for em

    Why we exist ?

    Big bang !

    How we exist ?

    Bang big !
    1. R1VERT1LT
Thats a nice way to sum it all up!
  19. harveyavatar
Let's clear something up here. The How (becoming)and the Why (Being) obviously go hand in hand, and whilst there is an argument to be said that one should do first and understand later, it is ultimately best to understand. Something that was touched upon in the following post: beingandquirckiness.blogspot.com/2009/04/playing-partition.html
    1. R1VERT1LT
Doing is understanding... while the "how" and the "why" go hand in hand, what really matters is HOW we live the WHY...
"The meaning of life is to give life a meaning".
Very well written post btw. Take a look at my latest poem if you wish to do so. You might enjoy it.

Health is most important. Without it we have nothing
    1. R1VERT1LT
      With that I cannot argue.
But health is also part of your "how"
      lol
  21. XxJamberxX
If you had answers to these things, what would you question next?
  22. HollytheHousewife
There will always be a ?
  23. rudia
To me, the word "why" just described such a history but "how" could have more extended meaning, the word "how" could also inspired us and give us suggestion to do somethings.
    1. R1VERT1LT
How can give a deeper meaning to why!
  24. lordiwanttobewhole
I have to agree with others...I love the line, "how we live our why"

P.S. I'm a follower now, love your layout and content

    You rock!
