What is the difference between a view and a hit in my blogcatalog stats?

I know the technical definition of a view and a hit, but I can't figure out what BlogCatalog is telling me on the Manage Blogs page. My new blog currently has 33 views and 6 hits.
On most other stats pages... a hit is a file being accessed. That doesn't seem to be the case here.
Anyone?
