I know the technical definition of a view and a hit, but I can't figure out what BlogCatalog is telling me on the Manage Blogs page. My new blog currently has 33 views and 6 hits.

On most other stats pages... a hit is a file being accessed. That doesn't seem to be the case here.

Anyone?

A "view" is when someone visits your Dashboard here at BC...a "hit" is when they visit your website.

Views - The number of unique visitors that have looked at your BlogCatalog listing

Hits - The number of unique visitors that have clicked through to your blog from BlogCatalog.

Thanks GrayFoxDown...that's actually discouraging to know that.

You're very welcome, embassye...but don't take any of these stats too seriously. If you believe in what you're doing, it will find its audience.

Different sites has different meaning for view and hit. As said by GrayFoxDown, if you believe in what you are doing, it will bring in the results.

Actually, I'd always wondered what the difference was myself. I'm glad someone else asked!

If a person view your profile on dashboard it is view and if a person hit on your blog links from BC that is hit.

Where did that go, anyway? I don't see views OR hits on my profile anywhere anymore...
