Lanzones. Don't ask me the english name for it because I have no idea. Actually it's a toss up between lanzones and mango. Philippine mangoes are the best tasting mangoes in the world. I heard David Pomeranz comment in an interview that he only keeps coming back to Manila because of the mango. He is a confessed addict to the fruit and I don't blame him.

It has to be the King of Fruits, Durian. Not everyone's favourite, but if you've never tried it, you really, really must. Each one of the pods are simply small, wonderfully creamy, pieces of heaven.

Mine varies by the season. Right now it is PIPPIN APPLES!! Absolutely love them - nice and tart, but this is the only time I can find them for sale - at least in San Diego - and not at too many stores. But when cherries are in season they are my all time favorite - I eat them by the pound - yummy!!!! Oh and when my neighbors plum tree is producing I eat those by the pound too - I think they are Santa Rosa variety!

All time would have to be bananas.
Though, if I can eat them right off the bush, it's raspberries (seriously, once they've been taken inside and refrigerated, it's not even close to the same) (actually, the same goes for blueberries, especially the ones growing wild in the mountains of New England).
And, lately, I've been partial to grapefuit.
And, combined with a blender and alcohol: mangoes. -
I love fruit in general, and different kinds in season. My all-time favorite, though, has got to be the tangelo - just the best parts of oranges and tangerines, wrapped into a juicy, tangy package that you can eat warm right off of the tree or ice cold for a treat on a hot summer afternoon. I grew up spoiled, with lots of citrus trees, and would give anything to be able to grow them at home. Alas, climate prevents me.
