That is pretty cool, one of mine is G and the other NC17
Chelle, did you really think your blog wouldn't be rated R -

ROFL!

My Christian blog is rated R because I used the word "death" 5x, "pain" 2x, and "crappy" 1x. I don't even remember using the word "crappy." Sh*t, yes, but not "crappy."

OMG - Who knows! This rating site is banned in Dubai...HA!
We apologize the site you are attempting to visit has been blocked due to its content being inconsistent with the religious, cultural, political and moral values of the United Arab Emirates.
HOW IRONIC IS THAT! We can't rate our site as we can't access the ratings site.
Could someone let us know please - the rating of www.gosmelltheflowers.com
Cheers! -
Most of mine are in the PG-13 category, though my tumblelog has a few offending posts that push it into the R category. That's not counting blogs I link to. (Oops. Just realized there was a link for an official rating. Well, you'll have to rely on my own nose. Sorry.)
Edit: That rating site gave my tumblelog a G. Guess it can't read words in images, and it went too fast to have looked at older pages. -
Mine are both G. And that's fine, because if I can make folks laugh in general with a G rating, then I feel I'm kind of doing something a little different. Yes, that's right-- "G" rated, but livin' on the edge!
Darned straight!

The reason: 4 times use of drugs, 3 times murder, 2 times hurt and 1 time stealing.
My answer: That's F-ing reality!

Haha, mine somehow ended up NC-17, when there's nothing so titillating there. Apparently simply using the word "sex" is reason enough to get that rating, even though it's generally only used for criticism, commentary, or retarded over the top humor. Apparently "hell," "hurt," "torture, "kill," and one instance of "punch" are enough to earn that rating.
... And we thought the MPAA was bad. -
I decided I would use zero profanity in my blog posts for one full year. I have nothing against it except that I think it's lazy writing (it's easy to use the F-word to emphasize a sentence--it takes skill to get the same impact without using it).
That's not to say I wouldn't write about sex or murdering Gummi Bears or something...

Offended--
Yes, I agree that a well placed F-bomb is "bloody f***ing brilliant." The key, though, is that it must be "well placed" (as it usually is when used in your posts). I have seen blogs where every other sentence uses some form of profanity, so much so that it loses it's intended shock value. Profanity is so much more effective when it's thrown in as an unexpected surprise.
If you don't agree with me, you can just [EXPLETIVE DELETED].
(see what I mean? Well, you would if they let me use use the "bloody brilliant" phrase I had in mind].

Not a shock. Mine was rated G and no bad words were found. I'm such a goodie, goodie...or something.

Nice thing!

This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words:
ass (1x)
How funny!!!

Doesn't make sense though. It determined that rating by mere foul language. Bad words doesn't make a movie into an NC-17, this topic sucks. -
offendedblogger,
Wow.
Thanks for the URL. I'll be using that on "Apathetic Lemming of the North" (with attribution, of course).
My blogs are a mixed lot:
Easy Griller: G
Starting a Small Business Without Losing My Mind: G
Narcissus-X: G
Through One Dad's Eye: PG
Apathetic Lemming: PG-13
Another War-on-Terror Blog: NC-17
(That last one surprised me, but it makes sense: 'This rating was determined based on the presence of the following words: bomb (9x); kill (6x); torture (3x); drugs (2x); rape (1x).')
I really appreciated those explanations. -
