Fat Tire Amber Ale, New Belgian Brewing Company, Ft Collins Colorado.
    1. cookingasshole
have you been to the brewery before? I love to take brewery tours.
    2. Stillthinking
Freaking love Fat Tire. Sooooo good. *drools a little*
    3. gtally
Nope, just Coors in Golden. This is the only decent way to drink Coors -- straight from the vat and slightly chilled. As a young beer, it's pretty good. Yeah and Fat Tire is the schiznet.
  2. aningeniousname
In winter I like Guinness and in summer Hoegaarden any other time I like John Smith's Yorkshire bitter.
  3. Stillthinking
I am a girl and therefore, have limited beer drinking experience.

I usually order Blue Moon or Amstel light in bars, but being forced to list my three favorites I will go with

    1. Guinness
    2. Strongbow Cider
    3. Fat Tire
    1. aningeniousname
Bloody hell Strongbow and a Scotch egg! Are you really from Barnsley?
    2. Stillthinking
I was a Strongbow Cider girl in college. I made 25 an hour going to bars and giving out Strongbow samples, playing games with customers, and hanging out getting Strongbow's name out there.

Darn good stuff. Especially good in a Black Velvet.

      Is Barnsley good or bad?
    3. aningeniousname
I can't drink cider after 7 or 8 pints my legs don't work.

Depends whether your from Barnsley or not.
  4. Agit8r
Alaskan IPA is good... cost no object Elysian Dragontooth Stout.
    1. aningeniousname
My great great great grandad invented IPA he had a brewery in London that supplied the British army in India and they wanted a light beer for the troops.
    2. Agit8r
      got any documentation?

*this is of course a ploy to steal the Aardvark's identity*
    3. aningeniousname
Charles John Phillips is my GGG grandfather he bought the brewery in 1852 and built it into the biggest in London.

    1. gtally
I am really happy to see so many Fat Tire fans! They rock!
    2. melindaville
It really is a great beer!
  6. Agit8r
Oh yes... Moose Drool is quite good also
    1. cookingasshole
      gotta love the big sky
    2. lisleman
Do they sell that anywhere where the moose don't drool? I had a few in Montana and saved the labels (might be able to find the label if I stop drinking so much)
  7. DollinNYC
    Coney Island lager -Schmaltz brewery
Arrogant Bastard - Stone brewing co.
Goose Island Honkers Ale Goose Island Beer co.

and I DON'T like Fat Tire!
    1. cookingasshole
      arrogant bastard is the bomb
    2. Stillthinking
Hmmm, Goose Island "Honker's Ale" is a hometown brew but I am not a fan. It's OK.
    3. lisleman
I like a few of the goose island ones like 312
  8. LisaNYC
Yuck. Never touch the stuff! P.U.!

      what beer does scott like?

  9. Nightbird
My favorite beer is any beer that I have on a sweltering hot day that has been in the freezer long enough to have ice crystals in it.

    Yeah, I know, I'm gonna get a lot of hiss's for that.LOL
    1. cookingasshole
what about chocolate or coffee stouts?
    2. DollinNYC
oh I like a super cold beer on a hot day too - but I am a little more selective!
    3. Stillthinking
I'm with you on that one. I love an ice cold Fat Tire on a hot day.

Even nasty swill like Corona tastes good when it's ice cold.
    4. Nightbird
"chocolate or coffee stouts?" ?? Tell me more, I might become a beer convert!
    5. Agit8r
I've tried a couple of so called chocolate stouts, and have been dissapointed. Also they tend to be pricier or at least as pricy as the dark beers I mentioned above (which do have a nice chocolatey essence)
    6. cookingasshole
Rogue Chocolate Stout is really good.
      rogue.com/beers/chocolate-stout.php
    7. Stillthinking
Weirdly enough, I think Guinness tastes like vanilla ice cream with espresso dumped on it.
    8. Agit8r
      thx cook

GREAT Ben Franklin quote too :))
  10. LisaNYC
Hmm...I will find out cookingasshole, which gives me an excellent excuse to drop him (another) line!
  11. LisaNYC
Well, I'd occasionally toss back an Amstel when I was living in Amsterdam, but always held my nose while doing so.
    1. cookingasshole
so what do you like to drink?
    2. DollinNYC
oOo Amsterdam?? I don't blame you for holding your nose while drinking Amstel!
  12. Stillthinking
I like to bake chicken in a fennel herb rub and a nice pale ale. It comes out so delicious.
    1. cookingasshole
      cooking with beer is fun.
One for you, one for me.
    2. Stillthinking

    1. cookingasshole
      is that water? lame.
  14. LisaNYC
Yeah, I agree. I have no excuse. I'm considering a 12-step program to help me get rid of this nasty addiction.
    1. cookingasshole
good idea. living with a water addiction is a life not worth living.
    2. Stillthinking
They should have 12 steps to wean people off bottled water and back on tap water. Bottled water is an evil waste of resources.
    3. DollinNYC
HA you don't know the tap water in our apartment complex ! It is BROWN !
  15. LisaNYC
Our tap water has body parts in it, but otherwise, I agree with you.
  16. LisaNYC
Well, yeah, it's brown from the body parts disintegrating. And stuff. Nasty!
  17. busylizzy
Root beer, tastes much better! And make it a float...

    Photobucket
    1. DollinNYC
the quality of nyc water has nothing to do with our neighborhood. Trust me, it is brown!
      www.nydailynews.com/ny_local/2008/11/13/2008-11-13_unclear_why_e_side_water...
  18. LisaNYC
We live in a part of NYC close to the East River where bodies are repeatedly dumped after gang and mob related killings. Sadly, the consequences are seen in our tap water.
    1. cookingasshole
it just has extra nutrients and vitamins in it
  19. LisaNYC
Yeah, but all that extra protein has caused some residents to crave even more, and develop a sudden interest in cannibalism, which only causes the murder rate to escalate.
    1. cookingasshole
      it is a vicious cycle...
    2. Agit8r
Since the bottled water fetish began, water quality has become the lowest priority of Environmental Protection

in that case, your mom blows
    3. Agit8r
maybe beer makes him blow chunks

I don't swing that way, gottlieb
    8. archiegottlieb
you will if i get enough beer in you.
  20. diabolicomix
I am something of a beer fancier. My favorite imports are:
    1. Heineken
    2. Newcastle Brown
    3. Belzebuth (a most excellent French beer)

And as for domestics I will usually either go with Miller High Life or PBR.
    1. Agit8r
that's it... he's getting deported to Tejastan (the new name for seperatist Texas)
    2. Stillthinking
Oh good lord. PBR is also a hometown beer, but honestly, it's blech.

I only ever bring it up to tease other people about it. I would never actually drink it.
    3. Agit8r
Hieneken is drinkable... the others, not so much

I may start a new blog: "Beer Snob"
  21. Kingjoe
In Australia we have this place called the Belgian beer cafe.

    Duvel is my favourite
Duvel Originally, the Breendonck brewer used to give his brand new beer to the town baker to taste. "Devil" or Duvel in Antwerp province dialect...innocent and begulling at first, with a soft, light palate. A style unto itself.

  22. LGramlich
Although I prefer margaritas, I don't mind the local brew, Abita Amber; www.abita.com/
    1. carsonfb
Abita is good. Hard to find in Illinois though. Their root-beer is good as well.
    2. LGramlich
I was surprised to stumble upon Abita Amber at a dive bar in NYC a few years back, myself. Their brewery's right in our little town, Abita Springs.
  23. onceafortnight
    Did someone say beer?

Hhmm a nice cold Austrian Gosser would be nice please (sorry can't type the umlaut without a whole pile of effort, which would mean I would then need another beer)!
  24. carsonfb
Domestic (US): MGD, MGD Light, Coors Light, Leinenkugel's Berry Weiss

Foreign: Harp, Bass, Harp, Guiness, Harp, Heineken, Harp...oh, and did I forget to mention Harp?
    1. cookingasshole
      I pity your domestic choices
    2. DollinNYC
I'm with you cooking asshole! I forgot to mention that I like Old Speckled Hen too !

    4. carsonfb
I generally pity domestic beer (water with food coloring). When I go out, I normally order Harp...if you couldn't tell.
    5. cookingasshole
I like harp. I also like a bass guiness b&t
    6. DollinNYC

    3. DollinNYC
I hate them even more ! they have been here for years!
  35. lisleman
Years and years ago when I needed a fake ID or older brother, I heard about a beer in Missouri (I think) called Bull Frog. Anybody ever hear or taste it?
    1. cookingasshole
I have heard of a bullfrog from Issaquah, WA
      It is a wheat beer
  36. cookingasshole
    Does anyone here drink Belgians?
If so what is your fav?
  37. xnapoleonx

    2. cookingasshole
those magic hat brews are not too bad either. Except one time I got an apricot IPA or some crap like that by accident and it was disgusting.
  42. chicky401
I am not a big beer person, prefer the mixed drinks when I drink. However my favorite is Corona and lime or Molson Ice. I had a friend who used to make his own beer and that was really good too. Very strong but good flavor.

  56. bettieblogger
I enjoy Labatt's Blue but if I'm in the mood for something different then it's a Guinness or a Stella

side note: the beer must be cold enough to freezer burn my throat or I won't drink it!.
    1. DollinNYC
LOL! the Grocery Store (Pathmark) on Long Island used to sell generic beer.

It was a can with the word 'beer' written on it..and it was CHEAP! and not very good...

My 'accident' was caused by your carelessness!!
RECYCLE or else people could DIE!!
  64. LisaNYC

    1. DollinNYC
It can still be sharp enough to cause someone to have an injury that required 37 stitches to repair!

      No shame here - RECYCLE!
  65. LisaNYC
Beulass told me I don't have to! So there!
    1. DollinNYC
