agh! the traditional "see"food diet!
my father follows this!
jk jk lol
but following hunger and not eating out of boredom is a very good tactic!
Listen to our bodies, they do know best!

I'll usually say something like "Look we both know it hasn't been working lately and I feel it's the right time for us to see other people, don't cry. No it's not you it's me, honestly it's a bad time for me right now what with the economic slow down and my increasing apathy towards our sexual endeavours. Have you tried kegel exercises? No it won't make your arms all manly. Anyway nice knowing you, will you pay that bill? Ok bye... talk to you soo.....bye."

This is what I do:
Eat when I'm hungry and only enough to satiate the hunger. Eat what I know my body's craving (which ends up being fruits/vegetables for some reason. I don't know, I'd be considered wierd, me living in America, for not wanting to eat fat food or meats). I think my body's starting to become sensitive to meat - go figure.
If people followed this kind of philosophy, there wouldn't be as large of a weight issue as there is today.-
i'm right there with you. i'm european living in america.
i LOVE fruits and vegetables. i'm also a vegetarian with NO desire to eat meat.
i gained weight from eating too much.
i love cereal, nuts, frozen yougurt, and granola.
i'm such an oral fixation person.
and i eat far too late at night.
i need to fix all these problems!
i think the weight issue in America is absolutely out of this world. at least i know that the weight i gained isn't clogging my arteries. i hate that commercial advertising shows us gross processed foods and fast food.
this is a major issue.

I don't see the point in dieting (I mean the only eating lettuce and carrots type) because unless you are going to live on that for the rest of your life the minute you go back to normal food you'll put all the weight back on!

I lost 45 pounds on Weight Watchers in something like 5 months. I think it worked for me because it wasn't so much a diet as a way of developing habits about portion and calorie control - I could choose what to eat and it made counting calories relatively easy, and because I was accountable and had to be weighed in by someone else who would write down my weight, no matter what my excuses were.
The weight snuck back on with infertility treatments and eating due to disappointment and then finally weight gain in pregnancy. I'm back within 15 pounds of my lowest weight. I'm trying a new tack now, following the "No S" strategy. No snacking, sweets, or seconds, except on "S" days (Saturdays, Sundays, and special days - like birthdays). I'm hopeful it will help because I eat healthily except for taking too much because I love how food tastes, and mindless snacking that I do when I'm bored but not hungry. I'm hoping I'll develop better habits of taking what I need the first time and not resorting to eating when I'm just bored. -
I eat anything and everything I want... Which sounds bad at first but if you consider that I don't really like sweets, fast food, or copious amounts of meat, then it starts to make sense. I also keep active. If you live in a place where you can do stuff outside everyday then do it, everyday. If you live in a place where the weather sucks most of the year then do in-door exercises, everyday. The point is that you need to be active everyday. Dont sit around 3 days of the week and then walk around for two hours and expect to sustain or loss weight. Also you need to eat vitamins. Your body needs the right nutrients in order to keep active bacteria colonies that allow you to properly digest foods and not hold on to wastes.
I have always been what people describe as being really skinny. I am 6ft and 150lbs and this is the most I have ever weighed, I am a 26 year old male. My metabolism is fast, but that is because my body is adapted to the life I live. Everyone's body is adapted to the life they live. The way to change your body is to change your life. It takes a while but if you make your life more physically demanding, you body will adapt to help you live that way. This is the only way safe way to do it. If you want to loss weight quickly, and stay thin, there is no safe way to do it. You might as well just get addicted to Adderal or what ever is in those diet pills.
