Topics: blog promotion, mind-numbing comments, my reverie, obama
I don't mind people adding me up on BC as a part of their shameless blog promotion tactic, but seriously, don't bother with 'those' kind of 'robotic' comments like:
.."please click on my ads, I have clicked on yours"
.."your blog is nice, I have added you as a friend" (obviously you have, as I could see the freakin' notification before I even read your text comment/shoutout"
I'm sure all of you have had your fair share of these mind-numbing comments and have learned to disregard them, if you have been on BC for some time.
For the purpose of this discussion, I would love to know: What is the freakiest comment you have ever received on BC aside from the mind-numbing ones. Comments that make you go straight to the commentor's profile and click on their ads..(LOL, joking :p)
PS: Obama is cute. haha (random, i know)

Serious comments are rare. I was fairly naive when I began. I perceived blogging as a new way of interacting with people who share true interest in the topics being presented. Not necessarily those who are in agreement but also those who have serious reservations or opposing opinions. Where a true "salon" of ideas and perceptions could be exchanged.
It hasn't happened. The vast majority of topics presented here and on similar sites deal with basically frivolous one-liners. "Who many inches has your waistline increased this month?" - "Does your neighbor's dog bark at night?" - etc, etc.
Such give an opportunity to zap in one's own one-liner in response. Opportunity to be cute. Quirky. Snarky. And so forth. And then scroll on down to the next one that prompts a similar quip. I am guilty of such myself.
It is not what I expected, hoped for, but it is the reality I find here. I am just having to learn to deal with it.-
Yes, endless lame-promotion that is never going to end. I did fall into the same pattern of giving lame-shoutouts like that.
But I got de-motivated pretty soon after leaving three to four parrot-type of comments. Even parrots are more creative than that!
Thank you Rivy, for sharing your thoughts with me =]

Barf!!!Spammers!! I particularly loath the ones that say, "I've clicked on your add, now you click on mine." I don't even have ads on my blog!!!

Recently I get a lot of ".."please click on my ads, I have clicked on yours." I immediately delete these messages and never visit their blog. These messages fail in every respect to function as they are designed. Especially since they start off with a lie. Because there is no ads on my blog to click. I have no ads.

My immediate reaction is @#%^&* OFF!!
I actually got one D...Head come back asking me why I didn't click on his ads after he told me he did so before on my blog and that I was not "playing by the rules" and that I didn't even visit his blog.
I wrote back saying "well lets just see if I contact Google and ask them If your playing by the rules".
I then received an apology back.
