What is your technorati rank?

Dear all,
I guess many of you have registered your blog in technorati.com/. Surely it is a very useful place for blogs.
Have you checked your blog's rank? I guess this rank is done on the basis how many blogs link your blog.
Technorati might indicate how many blogs are linking to you, but it doesn't necessarily mean how popular your blog is or have any quality indication of these links.
More linkage means better rank, but does a link from a one day old spam-blog (splog) really help? in technorati: yes. In my opinion : no.

I barely use technorati though I will go there is I like a blog and they have a technorati thing on their blog I'll mark them. I never found all that much use for it. Favoring is begged most of the time, though I tend to read the blogs I favor it is obviously most people don't routinely read the blogs they favor, so I'm not sure the value in it.
Mr blog ranks vary, my main blog is somewhere around 23,000 for my personal blog, 88,000 for the darfur blog which is obviously not a blog most people go form and my newer blog still sits somewhere at a quarter million.
I'm still not sure what people use it for, it is run rather shabbily is appears to be merely a listing place, you can't even merge urls which point to the same blog and that is really not that hard to do. -

Technorati is more than merely a blog listing site. The rank and connections you can make are Technorati are quite valuable. Especially if you find yourself interested in monetizing any of your blogs.
The rank that Technorati places on blogs carries as much authority as PageRank and Alexa.
Beyond being a website that automatically keeps tracks of blogs on the web, using Technorati tags on your website can increase your visibility.
For example, if I wanted to go to the site and see what people have said about PageRank, I can search that and return results of everyone who has tagged their posts or video with PageRank.
It's extremely useful, interesting when you're researching blog posts, and a huge key in social networking.
You may want to spend some time exploring the site if your blog's ranks, visibility, and/or monetization is important to you.

Yea, I hear a lot of people feel that way, though I signed on with technorati when I first started blogging I don't think I ever gave it a thought until all of a sudden people were begging to be favored. I have no interest in monetizing though that seems all the rage, my work is outside blogging and I don't imagine that will change after grad school. My social networking isn't done online though I have met, through my blog, people who have been useful to me and relevant to my future plans. I can't imagine why I'd be researching blog posts either but that is just me.
I check it when I mark others or once every couple of weeks, that is about it's usefulness to me. I know some people read blogs from it I just don't use it that way.
Imight think higer of them if they could simple merge urls. -
My authority is 31, for the moment (I've been having trouble with that, however it could possibly be higher)
And my current rank is 263,682.
But, if you go to the Truth Laid Bear, I'm a Slimy Mollusk.

Anok: I think "Truth Laid Bear" is a little messed up and has been.
I had not been there is some time, and last summer I went into my account and there was some other blog I'd never heard of there titled "light seeking light", listed as one of my blogs, I emailed them to take it out they never responded. I finally just deactivated that blog and emailed the person the blog belonged to, they said they had never signed up for TLB. To this day they still haven't removed that blog from my listing and I know there are others who have stranger's blogs listed as well.
Within the two seconds I was there just now to check, as this comment provoked me to go over there to add my newer blog I went from "Adorable Rodent" to "Marauding Marsupial" back to Rodent and back to Marsupial.
I also noticed the strange blog is still there in my listing.
Slimy Mollusk has a nice ring to it.-
You're right though, because when I looked into it further, it has me listed as a slimy mollusk, but I'm actually nestled into a wiggly worm category, thats like three full eco systems down....weird.
It also doesn't show any links etc....
Oh well. I still like the titles for the ranks LOL.

I can honestly say that Stumble has done more for my blog than Technorati.
I was stumbled at noon today and my stats are already 10x's their normal daily average! People are staying to read my offenses, too.

I'm at only 5 authority and ranked 1,652,849. And I've been blogging for over half a year now. Clearly, I am awesome.-
LOL, no worries technorati seems to only base rank and authority on links from other blogs. So you may have a lot of readers, but no one is linking to you.
To me, readership outweighs links.... -
True, but granted, while I'm not using Google analytics or anything, at least from my stats between here, Blogrush, and Feedburner, I don't exactly seem to have many regular readers either, haha. Not that it's going to stop me from continuing to try and creating the sort of content I do. There's gotta be weirdos out there who'd want to read the odd humor and commentary I write out there somewhere. (Or at least, so I'd like to pretend, haha.)

Haha, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I figure I'll write at least another entry or two around love over this next week yet. I try to infuse everything I write with excesses of weird humor - even the more serious commentary and such. It's the most natural and comfortable voice for me, after all. Feel free to stop by and keep reading at any time, anyway, haha. I always welcome another reader, and I find all sorts of odd topics to write about. And thanks, haha, I think that was probably my proudest entry title of 2008 so far.

I signed up for technorati because I found out that a couple of people had added me to their favorite lists there. Initially, I wasn't a member at all. I am not particularly concerned about rank. -

Technorati rank is really easy to get hooked on, I check mine every day, but the traffic boost you get from Technorati is virtually nil. Like ImBloggingThat said it's great if you want to monetise your site. I find that my Technorati traffic seems most interested in entries that have really descriptive titles, and the tags I use must also be in the title to get maximum value from Technorati. -
