When you wake up from sleep each morning, what do you look forward to? The faces of your loved ones, the familiar wall of your cozy room, the smell of coffee wafting in from the kitchen, the coolness of the morning, the chirping of the birds outside your window...? Do share your beautiful world with us all!

Hehe. No one wants to share. Maybe cause answering this question is kind of a soul strip. Everybody and me including has got his/her little or big idols. Usually I dont try to clinge to things, they seem to clinge to me. The more things I get rid off, the more come back. Might sound funny, thats just the way how it works so far for me.

One favourite thing is 'nature', thats a thing I cant give away, thats something to care for and also in ways of survival a constant challenge.

Today, I woke up with the morning sun shining on my face. I like that warm feeling. The morning sun is one of my favorite things. How about the rest of you out there? No favorite things to brighten up your day?
    2. footiam
Thanks Wilbau, not much response to this questions. Seems no one want to share!

breathing if I wake up breathing I know I am having a good day
    1. wilbau
So true! My wife told me that sometimes at night I stop breathing for one or two minutes, that scares her (while she is reading). So of course, when I check my breathing in the morning it seems to be OK again. Usually I stop breathing when I see underwater movies (movies about undewater) not watching movies under water.
    2. footiam
Yes, we have to be breathing first!

When I wake up in the morning I'm usually stumbling into the bathroom...always glad I can find that. Then, doubly glad after stumbling into the kitchen and grabbing a Pepsi to get the circulation moving and the neurons firing.
    1. footiam
Pepsi. It's one of my favorite thing too but not too early in the morning. It's not good for the stomach!

The sound of a fire crackling in the wood stove is my favorite...it means my husband is up early, having his coffee, being quiet downstairs, deep in thought...and all is well in the house.
    1. footiam
      That sounds nice.

Taking the kids to the park, watching them play... the colors in the fall... um going to see a play... mocha frappuchinos from starbucks... spending hours at Barnes and Noble, or better yet in a library.
    1. footiam
I like that idea. Children grow up fast and leave the nest before you know it.

    Right away upon waking? Food.

I'm not exactly a morning person, so I rarely have much in the way of higher brain function on waking.
    1. footiam
Watch your food! Too much of your favorite thing will be hazardous!(No offense!)
  9. FreebirdPro
I'm not a morning person either. Probably because I'm up so late chatting on blog catalogue! So... when I wake up, the thing I look forward to the most, is the snooze that will follow :-)
    1. footiam
It's always nice to have an extra snooze!

A hug, a kiss and a big smile from the kids (in the few minutes before they remember to turn into little monsters), a cup of tea and recently, thinking about my first blog post of the day. Sad, I know.
    1. footiam
Oh! Hugs! Everyone loves to have that!

Saying good morning to my dog. He usually has sleepy eyes, ears back and his tail going like crazy. He is such a sweet dog. I get good morning kisses and pet his head. He is so happy to see me.
    1. footiam
Having a dog makes life meaningful then!

i live alone and i love it. The thing that wakes me up in the morning is my alarm clock and the chirping of the parrot birds just right next to my window (but i don't own those birds)...

And turn on the television for some global updates....
    1. footiam
      Chirping of bird is nice!

When I wake up in the morning, I love getting up just before dawn and feeling the coolness of the morning. I love having a morning smoke and love to sit by the water garden we put in out front last spring. The sound of running water is something deeply soothing to me.

I love feeling like I"m getting a head start - to accomplish something before the wife and kid wake up. True, this sometimes amounts to fighting another battle on the PC in Medieval Total War 2 or a similar RTS game.

I love cooking breakfast before the family wakes up. The smell of bacon and eggs cascading through the house. Christmas morning is my absolute favorite. Seeing the little guy run down the steps wide eyed at the mountain of presents brings a tear of joy to my eye to even think about.

To me the morning is magical. I love starting adventures in the morning. Love the smell of dew on freshly cut grass.
    1. footiam
      Morning is indeed magical!

I love waking up inthe morning w/ a cup of coffee. I sit outside and watch the sun rise as the birds sing good morning. Gentle breeze on my face, I close my eyes to soak in the peace of the morning. The sun is finally out and my three children are screaming for breakfast. I love all of it.
  31. myriadlife
I look forward to meeting nice friendly customers with lots of money. While the customers usually turn out nice and friendly it's rare for them to have lots of money!
  32. 2sweetnsaxy
Well, the first thing I do is to turn on the coffee pot so I guess my answer would be coffee. :-)

    3. MVT5150
Was wondering when someone was going to write that! LOL. But, I must say julie andrews's voice is most definitely one of my favorite things. Too bad it was taken away from her.

When I wake up in the morning, I look forward to go to class. I have no choice. I'm still studying.
    1. footiam
It's a privilege to go to class.

I love my peaceful, simple, quiet, stress- & drama-free life. I love all the different birds & animals (even the brown rat,) that come to our feeders & more recently, the babies they're bringing. I love my considerate, appreciative, smart, handsome, funny, etc., etc., husband. I love having a stress-free job that I enjoy & am good at. I love being able to work P/T & still pay my mortgage, freeing up time for my photography & painting. I love our home in the woods & the beautiful view from our deck. I love not only being fortunate in my life, but appreciating my fortune.

Nothing is quite like autumn. The smell, the leaves, etc. It is my favorite time of year. I am visiting a beautiful arboretum in the mountains tomorrow to just walk trails and have a picnic with my b/f. I shouldn't be walking with my injured ankle, but I can't let this time of year pass me by.
    1. footiam
I would love it too; unfortunately, we don't have autumn where we are living. You arelucky!
