Last time I attemped to ask, many people asked me why didn't you post your own picture? So, now, I would like to see what type of pictures do men really honestly find attractive on dating sites. Do men find pictures more appealing because they show more skin? Do they like better when a woman is dressed up? Or do they like regular cell phone type pictures that show you at your worst? I posted a few different types of my own pics and voting poll here internet-dating-guru.blogspot.com/2008/10/what-kind-of-pictures-attract-men...
If you like to vote and comment on why you voted for a specific picture, please do so. If you have a personal problem with me doing this, please keep it to yourself.

I voted for #8. It's a beautiful picture, you look very relaxed in it and you have a natural stare that, I don't know ... while the picture itself doesn't show as much as the others, I feel that it just says more. But that's just me
(then again, I know little about dating sites, and what's commonly looked for or expected in them) -
I voted for 12 because it looks like a normal shot. If saw half of those pictures on a dating site, I'd think they were fake.

Well, on dating sites, most men will find more skin more attractive.
Because most men visiting a dating site are looking for skin.
But the genuine ones, looking for a relationship, usually are upset by too much skin.
So depends what you want to do with a dating website.
You want traffic, show skin.
You want genuine customers, do not show too much of it... -
When I tried online dating, photos of me looking friendly, approachable, girl next door worked the best. "Fashiony" photos that make you look "stuck up" are the worst, IMO. Showing skin may work for some men, but only the kind looking for a hookup.

I would struggle to pick someone from a photo, they can be so misleading. You can't see charm or humour you have to experience it.

#12. Looks more natural and more appealing to me than the others. (Still not my type, whatever that may be.) My first impression of the others is that they are scam artists that will ask for cash to pay for their passport to visit you.

I didn't realize that was you in all of those photos. Don't worry about my opinion - my sisters say I'm attracted to nerdy, plain women - so if that's any consolation for how brash I appeared - then please accept! (Gawd, I'm such a d*ckhole.)
But seriously, I was on a dating site once and I appreciated the women dressed in everyday casual dress. Surely you'll get a lot of attention if you're in a bathing suit since most guys will take that as an insinuation to go ahead and be 'flirty/sexual' right off the bat. It all depends on exactly what you're looking for.

the same style that is on the friendster.com casual encounters page

There is enough skin in the first several shots that I wouldn't need a date. I went with 12. That one looks like less effort, more fun and . . . ummm . . . the road less traveled.

Elaine, cool pics and you are very striking......
If I was looking on a dating site for a guy though, I would want to see his eyes and none of them show yours properly...
But, hey perhaps thats just the artist thing....I am fascinated by eyes -

I voted for 12 because I think it doesn't look like you're trying to hard.
My favorite pic is 11 but there's something about it that doesn't scream internet dating site photo, it kinda feels like a beauty shot one would take and put in her porfolio. Side note beauty shots are considered the hardest (not that I know much about modeling) and I think you nailed it in that one.-
thank you for the vote. on a side note No.11 is actually a beach shot, no make up, no reflectors, no photoshop, "all-naturel". I actually wasn't trying on that one at all, so thank you for the compliment. it's good to know someone thinks I look fine without makeup and stuff.
PS: I used to do beauty modeling, not so much any more

Well, well, well. Tough to decide, really. All great photos. I think - to be brutally honest - anything more than a closely cropped headshot is asking for trouble. Alas, I'm not a prude...but think about what the photo is supposed to do. If it is supposed to be your 'first impression' then I suggest viewing the photo choices again after I ask this question: Imagine you are meeting someone for the first time in person, which of these photos would best represent the first impression you'd like to leave? The key is IN PERSON. Great question, BTW.

Personally I would pick 2 and 4 if I were looking for a date. I like women who are confident and outgoing.
P.S. I would never respond to the Ferrari one since that says it’s all about her.
