I just wanted to add that I'm not a big time consumer of anything. I'm a frugal person who lives a very simple lifestyle. Wherever possible I purchase from local sources so I help keep my money in my own community and region.

There are no stores in my community. I have to travel. Otherwise, I completely agree with you.

We do have a grocery store here, which I use.

I book flights and holidays on-line and if there's a specific product I like which I cannot purchase within my area, I shop on Amazon UK, for example, music, books, software. (Some products tend to be a lot cheaper to buy on Amazon)

I also book flights and holidays online and mostly use Amazon.

I buy almost everything online. I think it's so much better than fighting traffic to find out the store doesn't have what you want.

Sex toys, bondage gear ect. Can't be buying that in public, people would look at me weird.

I did a (what I think is funny) posting about all that kind of stuff, what you can buy online but don't want your neighbors to know about. Of course I backed it up with a beer review.

Way back in the 90's, I bought something online and literally got a box with elmer's glue and a piece of brick. The box was stuffed with newspapers. That was the only time my life I can remember getting duped online. It was a deal where once they proved that they had shipped, they could cash the check or get the cash.

Barbie dolls & accessories + Barbie customizing tools & supplies, PC/PS2/Wii games, tickets, phone recharges (I've gone prepaid as I don't use the phone that much anymore), books... Anything that doesn't need to be fitted and costs less than 500.

(I've come short twice online, both times with Barbies that never arrived. Loss of 55 dollars in total.)

That's a tough question to answer. I FIND car parts online (craigslist, online inventories of salvage yards) but actually purchase them in person. If I need to order brand new parts I order them online directly through small vendors.

Otherwise, I order online whenever quality is a concern. I don't generally trust brick-and-mortar stores, and realize that the majority of their employees really don't know anything about the products they stock. It also saves me a bunch of time and generally ends up costing slightly less (after shipping, tax, etc)... just because it's online doesn't mean it's cheaper than in-store pricing.

I buy all the tickets I need for traveling online. Bus, train, flight, they are all way more expensive if you buy them offline here. Besides that, I buy books. The amount of interesting books you can buy locally (in Swedish) is just too small. There are way better books available in English.

I no longer recall what it is like entering a real store.

Seriously though, I buy almost everything online and I love it. I've been pampered by having everything sent to me that I could not imagine going back to old ways of waiting in lines and dodging people to get what I want and then zipping out of there like a ghost.

Most of the things I buy online are clothes, books, and electronic/gadgets. Anytime anything comes up to buy, I search online first. The only way I get it at an actual place is if I can't find it online. My bf sometimes shakes his head at my ways, but he's powerless to stop me =P
