    What is a good citizen?
    A good citizen is some who respects others and their property.

      Working hard is not an end by itself. Being productive is the mantra today. And tomorrow as society becomes more and more robotized, it is obvious that the value of working hard will be completely outdated. And that's the reason the super elites think we are now useless and population needs to be reduced by 9/10 or at least 50% since as asset we can be substituted by machines.

      It may sound workcampish of me, but there is usefull works that aren't about "production" per se

      Ummm ... this question is based on an assignment for school. I found two sites on the web which provided the same points that WillIAm2009 posted in the OP. As the information is prepared with new citizens in mind I suspect that governments always include "work hard" in their lists. ... lol

    A person that understands the system is only there as a guise of order, that chaos is the natural form of human life, and that within certain boundaries chaos should be stoked into being, like an ember being blown into an inferno. It is this type of person who will have the strongest will to teach those around them, and to inspire with the great classics of Human literature, poetry, drama, to recite poetry and prose in speech like a warm summer breeze. One that comforts those around into accepting the range of emotions, terrible, and ecstatic all are nothing, and we are just floating as nothing.

    It is this type of person, who is pregnant in the mind, who gives birth by the spreading his wealth of wisdom and ideas, by spreading ease of life, by spreading love for humanity, and a common brotherhood in the chaos of existence.

    This is the person who is the model citizen.

      Why should we be model citizen when we don't have model politicians and Gov ?
    2. timethief
      The old adage: In democracies citizens gets the government they deserve comes to mind. We select our political representatives and if they aren't model citizens then we have no one but ourselves to blame for electing them.

    I'd like to add a couple...

    1. By being a good neighbor
    2. Respecting the rights of others
    1. elitethinker
      Citizenship has to do with Politics, not with being friendly with your neighbour
    2. MadMadMargo
      By being a good neighbor, friendly or not, you are respecting property rights.

    @elitethinker
    The most noble mode of governance is self-governance
