After reading the great thread started by Timethief about polldaddy.com, I created a new poll on my blog titled "What makes you the happiest?" The poll is on my sidebar (top left)at robsmegaphone.com. Stop by and take the poll if you'd like. See how you compare to others who've taken the poll. You may like the format and decide to include polldaddy on your blog. It was simple to set up, and there are lots of skins.

Sorry this is so long. If you're still here, feel free to comment below on what makes you the happiest?

Turning in bed in the middle of the night and my boyfriend pulls me closer to him, while he is dead asleep. That unconscious action makes me tear all the time.

When I'm chatting with my mother and sister talking nonsense and laugh about it.

Depends on my mood. Either hanging out with family, being alone, or my volunteer work. It really does depend. Choice is a great thing

    @Robert
Hi there I've been to your blog and I've voted. It's cool to see that your poll fit into the sidebar and that it's updating there.

      Thanks, TT

The first poll I created didn't fit. Then I saw they had thin or slender designs as well. I've wanted to post polls for a while; I appreciate your tip about this.

Being able to create without the everyday problems encroaching. Waking up with excitement. Being comfortable.

Done did your poll. Spending time with family was top of my list.

Course a close 2nd would be actually catching fish when I go. LOL
    1. Theresa111
Do you keep your fish, should you catch one? Or, do you return it to the water?

I love to eat fish on the menu ... but when it is alive, it seems more like a friend. I am so confused.

Thanks. I agree. When I was younger. I might have picked something else. But since my kids were born, families first for me

Getting faces, hands, arms... ok, whole figures right in my watercolor paintings.

Setting up canvases for oil painting.

Wine, cheese, crackers, fig spread, olives and good sausage.

Any of those things will do after a tough day.
    1. BlueSunshine
Well at least one person was honest and said that "good sausage" after a tough day makes them happy.
    2. robertstevenson
do you have links to your paintings?

Traveling to new places and exploring new things - that's what makes me happy. And if I can do both with someone I love, that makes me ecstatic.

Where in that lovely state? I was produced in Richmond, VA and lived there for one year, before the family whisked me away. Later I lived in Northern VA, in many different locations. I love moving around to new cities.

My Girlfriend made me happy before, but we broke up. Now, I think my friends make me happy

my 3 year old coming home from school and showing me how to count to 5 on your fingers. My 4 year old coming home from school and telling me hes been playing football again. My 5 year old telling me about volcanoes and how they work and my 2 year old daughter smiling at me and telling me she loves me more.

    Edit - and the wife

    I just voted..

My kids give me the biggest joy in my life. You never know what they are going to say or do next.
    1. robertstevenson
How old are your kids? My boys are 10 and 12. I find the good times just keep getting better.
  15. lordiwanttobewhole
My kids give me the most joy. I'm happiest when I am in the moment and feel peaceful

@Theresa111, VA stands for Virtual Assistant, not Virginia. Though I did used to live in DC so I'm familiar with NoVa.

My grandson, the rest of my family, sitting outside with a book and a coffee...

But...if I had the choice I would move the whole darn family to the "sunny south" I love the sun, sand and water...
    1. azureislands
@roberstevenso...thanks...I appreciate it...I know my grandson would go with me anytime!!! lol :0)
  18. robertstevenson
Azureislands, My folks dragged me kicking and sreaming to the sourth when I was 9. I thought I'd never forgive them. By the time I was 11, I wanted to stay in the south the rest of my life.

We'll leave the light on for you.

My kids, for sure. They do the funniest, silliest, most innocent little things (well, not the teens) that just leave me grinning and giggling. I just told hubby today that having so many has kept me young.

Today at the store with the 3 year-old and 18 month-old I was looking for a shirt and Ian (3 year-old) spies a display filled with Spider-man shirts and he says to me, "There's Spider-man clothes! Do you want Spider-man clothes?" He was so serious - just adorable.
    1. robertstevenson
You have about 5 kids don't you. Are any old enough to help with the others. I have two: one runs one way and one runs the other. While I couldn't be happier with them, I can't imagine more than three. How do you manage?
    2. Anniepooh
Seven. I don't manage - my right eye twitches constantly.
      Oh-and the ages are 18, 16, 11, 8, 7, 3, and 18 mo.
    1. Anniepooh
      *snicker*
  20. azureislands
Anniepooh...what are the ages of your children???
  21. azureislands
    Sorry missed the post...:0)
    1. Anniepooh
I was late in editing! Sorry
  22. azureislands
Not to worry...I'm impressed...but the older ones must be of help to you!!
    1. Anniepooh
      When they feel like it!
    2. robertstevenson
:-) Sounds like crazy fun. (-:
