Zombie strippers - Its what you'd expect from a b-grade movie overall.
Effects were above acceptable but acting ( what else to you expect from porn stars though ) was pretty poor, even from robert englund. And as the title goes it's not that appealing to watch rotting women get their kit off. Zombies are good, strippers are good - but together they're not that appealing. Its like mixing jagermeister with baileys, you end up with a curdled mess.

Worth seeing once but its not worth a re-watch. 4.5/10

I saw Twilight on DVD. It's pretty much a teenie bopper romance...but still cute.
    1. HeadStones
have not seen that one yet but may rent it here soon.
    2. AngieA
I saw "The Knowing" and it was ok.

& I saw "Twilight" with my daughter whos been reading those books and didn’t really care to see it, but I left being in love with the teenie bopper Vampire.
I wonder if his teenie booper blood was sweet as well. lol
      It was a cute movie.

I saw Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with my daughter. The guys who made the James bond flicks made Chitty. Some of the Actors from the Bond films where in it. If you like family fun movies It is a good one.
    1. busylizzy
Truly Scrumptious's name is foreshadowing for the names of the Bond ladies...

I saw Knowing by Nicholas Cage. Value for money and the effects are good. Reminds me of rapture. I just wondered why his dad was not raptured?
    1. HeadStones
From what I understood in the movie it was the kids so they could start the new world. And everyone els had to face there jugment. Still love the ending though.
  6. roentarre
I have seen "reaper" - very spooky movie in deed
  7. Manz
I know it's not a new movie (it's a 2007 flick), but I love "There Will Be Blood" - that flick tends to get a re-watch quite a bit lately. Daniel Day-Lewis is an amazing actor!!
  8. ravensin
Its a local movie for me, You Changed My Life... a romantic comedy. I liked it very much, made me laugh a number of times.
    1. skygirl
      I love that movie. LOL.

Saw "Knowing". It was quite good.
  9. JoseSinclair
BEST ones I've seen in the week!!

    1. Slumdog Millionaire - brutal, but great, terrific music too
    2. Good Bye, Lenin! - terrific heartwarming German comedy
    3. Ballad of a Soldier - 59 bw Russian anti-war film, very pleasant surprise, about a road trip home to the Ukraine, beautiful stuff
    4. The Emperor and the Assassin - another giant Chinese costume epic
    5. Ashes of Time Redux - Wong Kar Wai's recutting of his 94 samurai film, still hallucinatory but more poetic and cohesive (Chinese also)

I watch a lot more foreign films now cuz I missed them growing up, and most new US movies are ridiculous, either moronic comedies or slash em all up gore fests that take very little imagination; I also keep watching Inspector Morse, only 10 to go out of 31 (all 2 hr films)

Movie was great, but did you find it hard to watch the entire movie?
  10. saiffarooqi
The latest movie that i watched is "The Wrestler". it did not live up to my expectations, but i really like Mickey Rourke's acting. if anybody wants to watch it, then watch it only for Rourke.
    1. askcherlock
I will see it only because of Rourke. I've been a fan of Rourke since he did The Pope of Greenwich Village.
  11. pandanartrepublic
The spirit from Frank miller..don't no what to say about this...maybe the comic much enjoyable than this!!I think not all comics can adapted to movies...
  12. lionmother
We just saw "Sunshine Cleaning" with Amy Adams and Emily Blunt. Both were great and there was a small part for Alan Arkin. Quirky and small movie with great acting and an interesting story.

Tyler Perry's The Family that Preys. It was very emotional and it shows that nothing is as it seems!

    2. Epicharis
Best kids' film I've seen in a loooooong time! It's actually a well-structured film, unlike most of the recent ones that just seem to be half-arsed money-makers.
  22. Ghostingmiranda
If you guys are interested. I do have an interesting blog on everything Horror. It has Asian Horror movies with english subtitles. It also has English movies. Each movie that I review has a link where you may watch that movie free, online.

    1. Sam1982
I heard that nicole kidman wasnt impressed with it either. If australia wanted to advertise they should have re-released crocodile dundee

I recently saw Milk, which was so great! I saw it in San Francisco, which made it even better because the audience was so riveted and applauded wildly at the end.

I also rented a movie this past weekend called 'The Visitor' and that was so good, also.

I'm going to be doing some movie watching this weekend too--because my hubby is out of town.
    1. aningeniousname
I saw Milk too but I thought it was awful and very unrealistic I doubt very much that gay men have more to do with milk production than cows but there wasn't even one cow in the whole film. Yet mysteriously San Francisco was full to the brim with heavily moustachioed gay men acclaiming milk and we all know San Francisco is one of most heterosexual citys in not just America but also the world.
      I was very disappointed.
    2. melindaville
Sorry to hear you didn't like it, Anin--I thought the movie was very well done (myself). Particularly, I thought the performances of Sean Penn and Josh Brolin were so good.

I do recommend the movie, 'The Visitor.' It's under the radar--and indie film, very well done.
    3. satijournal
My wife and I went out to see Milk a few months ago. I thought she said we were going to see MILF! Doh!

    Monsters vs. Aliens

We enjoyed it. Liked the references to old monster and sci fi movies.

I think Knowing is okay, but I don't really like last scene... I think it'll be much better if it stop at the end of the earth...

I think Milk is alright. I mean the acting, the drama and conflict. It all neatly arranged.

    Monster vs Alien, LOVEEE it!

      Can you say "spoiler alert?"
    2. Friday13
      I'll spoil Titanic for you!

At the end, the ship sinks!
    3. LGramlich
Friday13; That's all good. I have no intention of watching that one, anyway.
    4. Friday13
I found it worth watching, even with all the sappy romance stuff.
    5. LGramlich
I saw the part where the guy falls onto the propeller. That was worth watching.

    Tyson

Amazing documentary about Mike Tyson, he's not as crazy as you think.

    Die Welle (The Wave)

From IMDB: A high school teacher's unusual experiment to demonstrate to his students what life is like under a dictatorship spins horribly out of control when he forms a social unit with a life of its own.

    In other words, absolute awesomeness.
  32. lolosianipar
    Dear LGramlich, I'm soo sorry
    1. LGramlich
C'est la vie. I think I'll skip it, anyway.

    1. lionmother
      Hi,
I just went to your post to give my favorite movies and decided not to comment there. So here are my favorite movies ever:

      1. Breakfast at Tiffany's - not one list had that, but I have loved it for over 50 years. It's one movie you can watch over and over and not get tired of it. Love Audrey Hepburn.

      2. Rebecca - practically flawless and also have loved for the same amount of time. Joan Crawford and Olivier are magnificent.

      3. Sleepless in Seattle - Also can be watched over and over again and have loved it since it came out.

      4. Citizen Kane - Still a great well done movie. Beautiful photography and look at the underbelly of power.

      5. It Happened One Night - Clark Gable and Claudet Colbert have so much chemistry.

      6. Zorba the Greek - It has so much joy!

      7. All About Eve - Bette Davis is flawless in this and everyone is perfect in it too. Also can be seen over and over again.

      8. The Graduate

      9. Gone with the Wind - Clark Gable and Vivian Leigh have great chemistry too.

      10. The Best Years of Their Lives - sad and gritty and a good anti-war movie for its time.
Star Wars - It started a whole fandom and has continued through today. So it's a tie for #10.:)

We watched Annie Hall last night. I had forgotten how funny that movie was -- one of the funniest movies of all time. (Probably because I can relate to what Woody Allen went through.)
