Hi there,

If there are any experienced bloggers out there I would be really interested in knowing what sort of articles your audience prefers -
How to's, Information, personal, etc??
How do you judge your most successful posts - number of hits, number of comments?

This post (just published) might be of interest to you Tara:

I find that my readers enjoy posts where I share some personal logo design sketches.

I've had good luck with telling humorous personal stories related to crafting-- and typically the quirkier the craft the more folks seem to respond.

For instance, I decided to varnish Marshmallow Peeps around Easter to make garland out of them. And it was crazy the amount of traffic I got, with people getting a real kick out of the craft and wanting to give it a try.

I think though it's important to keep true to your own goals on the blog and not just write what others want to see. Your passion for blogging will likely dwindle if you're not true to your own interests.

    Thanks everyone

ThriftShopRomantic - I like your idea of telling humourous stories, I am never quite sure how personal to make a blog.

David just checked your post - what timing! Thanks for tagging me though I am not sure I am qualified. What you were suggesting about showing your work is a good idea, I have debated whether to do this, but some of my work is through other companies so sometimes this is difficult. I have some personal character designs for a kids book I am trying to get published, but I am not sure if this would be of interest to anyone?

I guess with regard to personal stories it's always good to keep in mind never to share anything you don't mind the entire world knowing. I don't talk about other folks, and I don't talk about my Real Job.

As long as you keep in mind that though you're sitting there writing on the computer alone, once it's published anyone has access to it-- including Strangers, future employers and hyper-sensitive Grandma Betty (if she's internet savvy... :-) )

Guess there are always decisions and choices to make for blogging responsibly.

People on my blog like when I write reviews and tutorials.. most of them are there for this reason only.. they also love humorous posts

good thread. i'm not sure, as my blog is fairly new, and i can't quite gauge it just yet. this is a good question, with more time, i'll probably post a brief poll on my blog, to see what type of pieces my readers /visitors like the most. there are a few posts that have comments already, i suppose those are somewhat the most popular for now. i'll have to think some more about this one.

I find my audience somewhat prefer posts where I yell at them. My audience is full of masochists. Cool.

m38967 I am in the same boat - its really difficult to judge, some days I have more unique visitors less comments and visa versa - how do you judge it?

Informational Here. I also like to ask my readers questions and find out what they think.
