When I was a kid, I ate baked beans with mayo mixed in, and canned spaghetti with sweet relish. I don't eat either anymore, but I still eat strange things...tapioca pudding mixed with fruit cocktail, for example. What bizarre combinations of foods do you enjoy, in spite of yourself?

Now I'm scared...I'm the only one who's ever eaten anything odd.

Try adding baked beans...it worked for me when I was a kid
  4. kataztrophy
I used to eat my own nails. That's strange because I didn't soak my fingers in Tabasco back then.
    1. brianomaracroft
You couldn't have made much of a meal of them

    Time travelling?
  6. HollytheHousewife
    Oh I forgot,mayo and bananna sandwich...sooooo good
  7. DollinNYC
I blame Elvis for this one :
Grilled peanut butter, honey and banana on wheat bread.
    1. brianomaracroft
That sounds fairly tame...you're normal, I think.
  8. HollytheHousewife
Yes doll, but that's not weird its yummy....

Oh I also put jelly in my grits
    And on a sausage biscuit
    1. diabolicomix
Jelly in grits? Now that is weird...
    2. diabolicomix
      Double post

      @Holly

My wife also puts jelly on her sausage biscuit. I thought she was the only one in the world who did that.
    4. brianomaracroft
I couldn't even get through the sausage biscuit...the jelly would actually increase the odds
    5. HollytheHousewife
Nope now there's 2 of us haha
    6. HollytheHousewife
Nah it's good...what u do is butter, salt, and pepper them really good, then just put a spoonful of jelly on the side. Ever time u take a bite get a little jelly,or preserves are even better.

dijon mustard & caesar dressing on macaroni

Raw eggs mixed into white rice with dijon mustard
    1. brianomaracroft
I've never tried that (and probably won't) but who knows? I guess YOU know. Hmmm...
    1. dbowles1017
      Mmm babies...

    carrots dipped in peanut butter.
  12. lifeshighway
    Cauliflower dipped in potted meat.
    1. brianomaracroft
How did you even come up with that one?
    2. samureyed
what the hell is potted meat
    3. brianomaracroft
It's a meat that goes well with cauliflower, from what I understand.
    4. lifeshighway
My Dad was a big fan of protein in a can for fishing trips. Potted meat, sardines, kipper snacks, deviled ham... stuff full of salt that is probably bad for you.

Potted meat is made from stuff that I do not want to think about it including random pork products.

I guess it's not that weird, but everyone always thinks it's strange that I love the chocolate part of oreos and am not a huge fan of the inside.
    1. brianomaracroft
It would be more weird were you to replace the filling with potted meat or something else, I think.
  14. kas330
Haha sick! I used to love steak fat, more so than the steak actually. Yet I'm sure with the amount of A1 I use, it's not like I'm tasting much else
    1. brianomaracroft
If even a thin sliver of fat is on my meat, I gag uncontrollably. It's embarrassing, really. An 18-ounce prime rib yields about a four-ounce chunk for me, much to the consternation of all watching.
  15. kas330
No fun I don't eat it any longer, I'm not even a big steak fan anymore. Eat a lot of seafood? That's not all too fatty I don't think..
  16. MissSuzie
I don't really eat anything strange (at least I don't think it's strange), but I do buy the jalapeno poppers and pull the pepper out before eating it. I love the taste, but hate the pepper's texture or something.
  17. kas330
The poppers made me think of mozzarella sticks, which made me think of ketchup, which brings me to ketchup and eggs. Some people find it weird, I can't eat them any other way though. Obviously not raw or hard boiled though!
    1. brianomaracroft
There you go...I've been known to put ketchup on eggs
    2. MissSuzie
I prefer hot sauce on my eggs -- maybe that's strange?
    3. HollytheHousewife
Yessss,I put ketchup on my eggs to
  18. kas330
I've heard of that, never tried it though. Salsa and eggs is pretty tasty.. I might have to try hot sauce sometime
  19. HollytheHousewife
This is weird, but I keep a bottle of louisiana in my purse,haha....it makes ever thing better...
    1. kas330
Ah! Same with bbq! Sweet Baby Ray's preferably. I could eat it on anything. Veri Veri Teriyaki also! I'm getting so hungry
    2. MissSuzie
I second Sweet Baby Ray's -- to die for.
  20. kas330
I couldn't agree more! I don't know if you have Sheetz gas stations anywhere around you? If you do though , at the made to order food place get the Schmokehouse Fryz. It's their amazing fries with nacho cheese, Sweet Baby Rays, bacon bits, and onions. HEAVENLY!!
    1. MissSuzie
Now that made me hungry (minus the onions). Will have to try that.
  21. HollytheHousewife
Biscuits and sorgum...I'm gettin hungry now
    1. kas330
      what's sorgum?
  22. HollytheHousewife
    Its like moleasses
    1. brianomaracroft
Mole asses? Now those sound tasty!
  23. LaPastryChef
