I don't watch that much tv, but I do keep up with a few shows. My favorites are Lost and Desperate Housewives. There used be a sci-fi series called Lexx on Showtime I used to love. I think it still airs on Sci-fi channel.

What shows do you recommend?

      one of my faves too
    2. DrowseyMonkey
And my secret husband, Chris Meloni

The only TV show that I'm really hooked on, and know what day/time it's on is Lost. Other than that it's hit and miss. I did watch all the episodes of Dexter, but it was "on demand" so I could watch it whenever. It's worth it ... but not the cleaned-up version they put on the network, you gotta watch it un-cut.

    "Samantha Who?"

Very well written and extremely funny. It has high ratings but I don't think a single person I've asked has heard of it, much less watched it.

It's the only show I watch besides LOST, but if you haven't been watching LOST up until now don't bother. Unless you're willing to rent the CD's. Then it's a no miss.
  3. admarktech
Ugly Betty - it's the only show i actually have an inclination to watch.

    House for sure.

    Bones is also very good.

I don't think we can recommend House MD enough. Have you read Hugh's Book, Gun Slinger? Reading it now--- imagine a Gregory House James Bond.
    2. DarkAngelMe
      Meant Gun Seller

      wonder where slinger came from.
    3. ThriftShopRomantic

  26. ender
    meh to all detractors.

(goes the same for the internet, btw)

Don't make fun of me, but I like CW shows. I dunno why. I'm a middle aged woman.

    Smallville
    Gossip Girl
    America's Next Top Model

Another vote for Heros, Bones, Sarah Connor.

    Non-network shows:
Flipping Out on Bravo. Jeff Lewis is a freak, but the show is coming back in June I think. Wonder if he'll survive the housing bust.

Design Star on HGTV -- also coming back as a summer fill in June.

Sarah James on BBC I think. Campy kids' show but fun, too.
    1. Stillthinking
The Sarah Jane Chronicles? You should watch Doctor Who. I love Doctor Who.
    2. Deray28
      I looove Dr Who!!!
    3. Stillthinking
I love David Tennant as the Doctor, but I am also excited to see the new Doctor. I am a little distressed that we Americans are going to have to wait longer for the new episodes.
  28. calais50
Dare I admit to being a Project Runway fan?
Also, there's a show on BBC America called "You are What you Eat." They take people who are overweight and have horrific diets and get them healthy again. Very good and inspiring. Something funny about the show...they get a stool sample from a person, wear surgical masks, and discuss the person's poo with them. I find that part hilarious for some reason.

Also It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia...otherwise known as Seinfeld on Crack...not for the easily offended...first four seasons are available on DVD...
  38. clioandme
I'm enjoying a new one on NBC (and hulu.com): "Community"

It's ostensibly about a community college, but really it's just fun in a goofy, almost thoughtful kind of way.

pushing daisies!!!... if it wasn't canceled ;(
  41. legbamel
Apparently I missed the opportunity last year to recommend Reaper to you all, which lead to its cancellation. I'm sorry, Reaper cast! The only two shows we watch are House and Fringe. Everything else has a title that's too long. We don't have cable, though, so we can't even watch many of the shows recommended if we wanted to do so! We do, however, watch a lot of anime which were TV shows in other countries. Thanks to Norski and some other BCers, we're now hooked on Bleach and waiting very impatiently for Season 4 to be released next month.
  42. trailofpen
    NBC's Heroes.
