What was the dirtiest your house/apartment has been?

Last night at work I was watching tv and they were showing a womans apartment that was out of control. Let your eyes do the judging: www.houston-imports.com/dirty/dirty.html

This brings me to ask, What was your place like at it's messiest? Please give details. Were there food products and containers around? How about clothes? Junk Mail? Maybe it was childrens toys? Whose fault was it? Yours? A family members? A friend who was crashing the weekend of a bunch of "friends" who crashed a party?

I like watching "How Clean is Your House." They clean up filthy houses. Most people with truly filthy houses are hoarders and you know a month after the show, their house will be in the same shape.

You know whats funny, I read one blogger say the same thing about The Biggest Loser. That most of them did the job for the show but when it came to keeping off by themselves it's a no luck thing because they are just used to being who they are.

Anyway, I think the messiest my place has been was this one time that I had a month off from work and did nothing but play videogames. It was a mess of cigarette butts, Ash, cans, bottles, Junkfood wrappers..... Well hell it was like those pictures in the link above but only 1% of all that and there was no poop on the floor.

Holy hell, how is it even possible to live in that and not get eaten by mutant vermin?

I think the worst my house has ever been was a few years ago when I was living in a share house and I went away for a month. I came back and nobody had done the dishes the whole time I was gone and the kitchen was a breeding ground for previously undiscovered life forms.The rest of the house wasn't much better. Oh and there was a possum in the house too. Yuck.

I've badly needed repairs in my apartment, but didn't call the landlord because I didn't want the maintanence people to see how messy it was.

I do differentiate messy from filthy, though. Messy is books and papers and stuff all over the floor. Filthy is food and food residue and other stuff that starts to smell and attracts vermin all over the place.

I stay on top of keeping my Condo cleaning.
I just hate coming home to a dirty house. However I am not a cleaning fanatic.
I do make it a point to mop the floors at least once a week and clean the counters daily if I am using it. This way the house is kept in good shape and I love coming home to a clean house.
