I think acts of kindness often go unreported or maybe not as sensationalistic as when folks do us wrong. So what kind act has someone done for you lately

I couldn't pay my car insurance last month and a friend of mine surprised me by not only paying last month, but the whole year.

Wow

I was going to London from Melbourne, and got to the airport 3 hours before the flight departed. Alas the airline's computer was down, so I stood waiting, at the head of the queue, for the next two hours.

When the computer finally came back on line, the staff were so impressed with my patience and endless politeness, they upgraded my ticket to First Class. Instead of 25 hours onboard of squishiness and boredom, I had the most blissful trip of my life.

I want to thank that unknown ticketing officer at Lufthansa for being the nicest that anyone has ever been to me.

Wow, a first class ride for a long flight really deserves some recognition. I know that flight attendant knew you were appreciative

This isn't recent, but a boy in high school bet me $20 when I was in 8th grade that I would not be a virgin when I graduated high school. At the time, I thought boys were revolting and assumed winning the bet would be easy. I'm 44 now, and with hindsight, that was one of the nicest things anyone has done for me, although, a couple of junior and senior boyfriends would attest that same act was the most terrible thing anyone did for them! lol

Why do boys do bets like that..lol

On the car insurance thing, I was dating a guy once who did that for me....and we weren't even that serious. But he was genuinely a nice guy, and I was in financial trouble at the time.

I don't know what's the "nicest" thing someone's done for me, I tend to recognize all nice thing, no matter how small.

That is so true JamCan, sometimes the smallest acts turn out to be the biggest for the receiver. My son's birthday was yesterday. I didn't have any money to buy him a gift, however I called and just said I LOVE YOU. He thought that was so special

Shortly after graduating high school, I hit a deer with my car and did serious damage. I was broke as hell so my dad let me drive his truck. I didn't know it, but he was fixing my car while I was at work. Three weeks later, my car was fixed -- with a brand new paint job to boot.

A co-worker of many long years helped me to a leftover office computer that was sitting useless in the catacombs of the building. Didn't cost him a thing either except his time making it ready to use for me, office software replaced by for use at home. But it's his neck if anybody would ever ask about it! And I never asked, he came up with it and never asked anything in return either.

That was truly a great Co-worker

The nicest things anyone ever did for me was in July, 2006. My little one had just graduated from the NICU after two months of constant medical problems and we were moved to another unit. About a week after being there, my birthday came along.

A photographer who worked at the hospital had heard about my son and his condition (which was terminal) and came and took an entire roll of pictures of the two of us and told me it was his gift to us ... My son is no longer with us but those pics are framed and on my wall for me to cherish forever ...

That was the most touching thing that's ever happened to me.

Gave my credit line out to someone who was late in paying their fees. Never cosign or lend out money unless you view it as "a gift" and don't expect anything in return. I learned the hard way. But, the nicest thing someone ever did for me was accept me unconditionally and was there for me all the time. (I eventually married this person), but sometimes things like that is priceless.
