Oooohh...Mouse Trap, I'd forgotten about that game! I also liked Monopoly, but always lost. Which explains my financial situation as an adult,

But I think my favourite was Sorry. Anyone remember that? I guess you can really tell people's ages by their answers! LOL No computer games in my childhood.
    1. crkian
      Mousetrap now isnt the same
    2. Shiley
Don't feel bad the adults always let me win.
  3. kab625
If you mean games, in general, we played a LOT of softball. I lived in a development full of kids my age, and you always seemed to have instant teams.

During the winter we played a lot of Monopoly, Scrabble and Old Maid.
  4. myriadlife

    2. aningeniousname

    3. crpitt
      Nope I havent changed tactics

and yes she is scared of the dark and sheets, ever since I pretended to be a ghost haunting her.
    4. Shiley
why not? I used steal my brothers baby bottles.
  16. robertlord
    Wow,
I remember my grand kids playing some of the games mentioned but in the early 30's we used to listen to GE radio crystal set, in evening with big ear phones. played a lot of cards and chess. I was only male child on my end of town, not any rough sports, when they put down sidewalks it did not take long to learn hop-scotch,
I think someone on street got monopoly board about 1938 so used to play that for hours.
    1. Shiley
you would be cool to interview. I'm into genealogy and I love listening to things beyond my era.
  17. calais50
    Freeze tag
    1. Shiley
I played that too and played a variation TV tag.
    2. calais50
I played tv tag too but I can't remember how it's played.
    3. Shiley
you run the person who is it chases you if you shout out a tv show and squat at the same time you're safe.
  18. cayasm
    Hop-scotch, skipping, dominoes, tag
  19. ThriftShopRomantic
Tickle my cousin until he wet himself. Always a fav.

Oh, but also Life, Monopoly, Breakout (on the Atari), and general imagination games-- like Shirley my best friend and I played Star Wars, the Dukes of Hazzard, the A-Team, etc.

We were nerds, but it was fun.
    1. aningeniousname
I used to love playing Life, but it was crap if you got a bad job at the start, so I always cheated and made sure I was a Dr.
    2. ThriftShopRomantic
It's true if you got a lousy profession, it just made everything go badly.

I remember being annoyed that the profession closest to what I wanted to be-- a journalist-- was one of the lousiest paying jobs...

      But then, that's Life!
    3. Shiley
I recall my mom tickling me until I had to use it.
    4. Dukepro25
      EVIL!!!

My sister use to do that to us!

      Not funny - lol
  20. dreesyach
    Nintendo-Mario Bros
    1. Shiley
Never had a nintendo Atari, Genisis, when I moved out playstation. Now I've down graded to v smile. lol!
  21. Dukepro25
Monopoly is always fun, but I take it too serious and everyone gets bored before the game is over.

    Battleship is always fun.

Loved Nintendo and all that fun video game stuff.

Street Fighter, Double Dragon, Super Mario Brothers.

Sega with Sonic The Hedgehog and Mortal Kombat.

    Ahhh! Those were the days.

    Don't forget my favorite pass-time!

Shooting my brother with a Nerf ball air gun. lol

G.I. Joe action figures were awesome too!!!

And yes...I loved Star Wars too Shirley.
    1. Shiley
I was a bit of a tom boy G.I.Joe and Barbie ended up married raising a couple of army brats who drove Tonka trucks.
  22. thebigandyt
that one were you made a circle with your thumb and forefinger(below waist height) if you got someone to look at it you could punch them inthe arm. Funny then, not so funny last week, some people just take too much offence at getting a punch in the arm.
    1. Shiley
Trade punches! That's how my best friend got me to stop nail biting. I used to admire her nails and every time she caught me biting she punched me. I had brusies too. My mom though something was wrong with me.
    2. thebigandyt
did it work? do you still bite them?
    3. Shiley
I stopped nail biting. I use nail clippers now if I need to. Usually I get comments like should be a hand model. In the beginning of my relationship w/ my fiance he thought I had fake nails.
    4. ThriftShopRomantic
Only if Shirley ever goes for a manicure, the manicurist has to wear full body armor. Reflex action, donchaknow.
    5. Shiley
I don't go to a manicurist. I know how to give my self french manicures. When I was younger I used to pirece my nails and put in nail jewlery. I can do decals the whole bit. Reminds me I volunteered once at an elderly home did nails all day. Who'da thunk nail polish would make you high? I left awful giggly.
    6. ThriftShopRomantic
I really was just kidding you anyway, Shirley. I just had visions of a manicurist coming at you with clippers and you not able to stop yourself from hauling off on her with a right hook.
    7. Shiley
Lol! I went in one day w/ a friend and the manicurist looked at my nails like she was about to drool. Asked me if I was getting my nails done. I said no she asked why not. I said I've outgrown funky designs I'm happy w/ a french she kept staring at my hands it was creepy.
    8. Dukepro25
      Gag!!!

      I hate that smell.

I avoid it like the plague.

Those fumes can't be good for your brain. lol

When I walk past the nail salon in the mall, I walk "A-Round".

I walk on the opposite side of the wall and cover my face. lol

I would much rather smell diesel fuel all day long than have to smell that stuff.
  23. Shiley
Sorry starting here I hate scrolling. I grew up w/ nail polish the smell doesn't bug me at all
  24. ettarose
Shiley, I do my own nails also. My friends get so tickled with my own homemade designs. Once I put little roses over my whole nail. They were so cool!
    1. Shiley
How funny it is getting used to each others avatars. I'm so used to you being a chicken. Lol! That's how I thought of you.
    2. Dukepro25
      Why hello Ettarose!

  25. dcg123
oops! scuuzeme! It was a little kids game where we use to bump into the girls, cop a feel and say..."Ooops, excuse me!" lol

  32. daniel23
Crawling around in the woods in my mate's dad's old army gear reenacting complex historical (and made-up) warfare scenarios. There might be six of us sometimes. If we got "shot" we might have to lie absolutely still for like a half hour.

    1. Shiley
Sounds fun! We did a lot of hiking where I lived. As far as warfare goes the most I ever did was make Barbie marry G.I.Joe.
  33. machinehuman
That would be ATARI - Space Invaders, Pitfall, Pac Man, River Raid, etc...
    1. Shiley
      Great games!
    1. Shiley
