I went back to college to get a different degree, was working three jobs, and basically doing nothing but working at work and working at school
    1. dsriharsha
eh? I am 21 and yet to finish my degree and you went back for more?
    2. Anok
Yep I finished at 20 - decided I didn't like the degree I chose, and went right back in.

Wait, that's not right...no, I ended at 21, and went back the following semester. Yes that's right. (My birthday is in a funny spot - so I was 21 through the end of one semester, and the beginning of another)

SHeesh! Makin' me remember all this stuff. That was too long ago!
    3. xnapoleonx

21st birthday. Aug 59. Out of 3-years army service. Finally - whew - old enough to drink. Enrolled in Pasadena City College, California. First ever classes in art. End of May - age 21 - getting ready to head for Chicago. To enroll in American Academy of Art. Chi-town. Toddling Town. Blues. Jazz. Cool. Wanna-be "Beat". Started my long, long years exploring alcoholism and arts. Still doing art. Sober for a year. Day at a time. Blogging. Notching a life.
    1. dsriharsha
      whoa.. you are old..
but you lived through the 2 awesome decades of music

I just got kicked out of college for being a hell-raiser and general nuisance. So I started hanging out at the beach, enjoying life, bumming around, accomplishing nothing-pretty much the same thing I'm doing now and have done most of my life.
    1. roadgurl5
      Wow, that sounds eerily familiar...
  7. SweetViolet
I was the divorced mother of two children, working in a supper club as an...erm...exotic dancer.
    1. larrybrains
      Will you be my friend?
    2. SweetViolet
      Ahmmm...Larry, I'm now 62. And fat.

Still want me to be your friend?

(Of course, my husband is 37...infer what you want from that!)

Working construction, getting drunk every day, doing a lot of drugs... Just your average 21 y/o in Houston in the early '80s.
    1. larrybrains

I was getting my first real job (not summer job) and enjoying the Connemara night-life at week-ends, which involved drinking a lot of Guinness. I was living away from home so I had to get out to meet new friends.

  23. ScreamBucket
I was a senior executive for Capital Records in Western Canada. Quit on my 21st birthday...for reasons I still don't understand. It was a freaking cool gig.
    1. RudrakshRudranjali
      was it your dad`s company..
    2. ScreamBucket
No it was not. I wish. Capital Records is best remembered for the Beatles I suppose. I was in distribution - moved the product from warehouse to retail.

My claim to fame is that - in an era before computers - I designed a warehouse inventory method for records based on the Dewey Decimal System from libraries. Not many folks in the record biz went to a library I guess.

It became industry standard and of course, disappeared with computers. The dull side of rock 'n roll.
    3. RudrakshRudranjali
great... then all ur credentials are great..

  28. faithsju243
Let me see...just graduated from college, getting my heart ripped by a guy I thought I would marry, still trying to find myself, working as a directory assistance operator for cell phone companies and looking for a job using my degree...some other stuff but mostly that.
  29. Shuttercraft
People playing Nintendo usually do not get a lot of sex. usually you have to pick one or the other. If you got both at the same time then you are one bada$$!

Tho I have to say, geeky girls can sometimes be vary hot!
  30. Sam1982
I don't really remember 21, but it must have been fun because spent a crap load of money and woke up with a hang over nearly every day
  31. crpitt
@ 21? He was about 6'4 played a lot of rugby, smelled nice and was ...

  36. ATraveler

  37. jyotishman
At the age of 21, I spent most of the time banging My Head Against A HUGE Wall, Restlessly Wanting Life to get Better; It Didn't, I Still Write Bloody Poetries!
  38. rfburnhertz
Pot, Acid, more Acid, alcohol, sex, Acid, alcohol, sex and Acid.
Nothing worth while that's for sure.
  39. radioflyer1980
I covered a space shuttle mission in Florida (also went to Disney World!).
  40. evilsquirrel01
I was pregnant and planning to get married. It was a mistake, though. WE separated after a year. I wish I'd have done my 21st year differently.

  42. wagerwitch
    I am soooooooooooo NOT telling...
    1. SweetViolet
      no fair!!

I told about my...ahhhh...dancing career, now you gotta tell what you were up to!
    2. wagerwitch
UHm - suffice it to say - that for some reason - I do NOT remember my 21st year very vividly. LMAO!

I do remember being a cocktail waitress at THE BACHANAL in San Diego - and meeting a ton of band members - Nina Hagen, Boston, Ramones and a ton of other mentionables...

      Uh....

I also ended up working at Pompeii Nightclub in Palm Springs - which I wore high heels, a Tuxedo Shirt, a sort of one piece bathing suit, pantyhose and a bow tie and cummerbund.

      Uh...

I really don't remember much tho... Those years were kind of a daze for me... Didn't do drugs or drink a lot - but my friends and I did all sorts of interesting things - too many I think...

I do remember driving a busload of people (in a real bus one of my rich friends bought to carry everyone around to party in) because everyone else was drunk and I rarely drink (makes me ill ---- I Have that stupid HANGOVER Gene - and it kicks in on half a glass of wine.)... I remember driving that bus to Vegas with about 30 people singing 100 bottles of beer --- and wishing I had ear plugs. I also remember being terrified because it was foggy and I had no clue how to drive a bus...

But other than that --- that was SUCH a freaking long time ago.

My cousin is a stripper (or was before she got pregnant and married) and I used to go watch her show - she was GREAT!

I know I did a lot at 21 - but I hardly remember it now.
  43. alen4ik2003
@21 ummm.. graduated with a degree, got married, joined the company that I still work in today... enjoyed life... but 24 is not far from 21... so still happily married, still working and still enjoying life!
  44. pegasevil
I do not know, I am only 20
  45. Floormodel
at twenty one I was married and awaiting the birth of my older son. I was immature, unsure of what I was doing, yet also certain that my life would be the perfect picture of house with happy family and dogs in the yard, cars in the driveway and happily ever after.
  46. SAHMinIL
Married, w/1 child and another on the way. SAHM!
  47. JaydenVasara
working my first job, adjusting to life in a big city, getting terrorized by my boss, about to end my first engagement...
  48. DollinNYC
I'm sorry , but the "playing Nintendo" and "having alot of sex" makes me wonder if you are telling the truth?
    1. cookingasshole
yeah...I thought those were mutually exclusive. Unless of course you mean the Wii. I think they have a sex game on that thing.
    2. DollinNYC
I'm guessing when he was 21 the Wii wasn't out yet.
Speaking of Wii, don't YOU have one????????????? But you wouldn't know anything about the sex game now would you??!?!?
    3. cookingasshole
oh no! of couse not! I only use it for the Wii Fit and tennis. I am a GOD at tennis. Seriously...NO ONE can beat me.
    4. DollinNYC
      mhmmmm riiight
    5. cookingasshole
I swear! I am the Bestest.
    6. wagerwitch
OOoh - I dunno - I play a mean mini golf and a FAB game of bowling - and I'm really good at the tennis...

Although hubby "accidentally" WALLOPED me the last time we played together - had a huge bruise on my arm... Sigh..

I still cringe when he picks up the Wii remote tho.

I also play a great Monopoly on that thing but think the Price is Right SUCKS.
    7. cookingasshole
My ranking in tennis is well into the 2000's

Struggling in an expensive art university, a lazy perfectionist, and can never get enough of the internet.
  53. Flipnautick
Let's see, what did I do yesterday?

I went to different Audi, Acura, and Infinity dealerships and test-drove some badass cars. Smoked a gram of California "dro" off a gas mask bong. And I played Gears of War for three hours.
