This article really got me thinking..

Given that there were no limitations to your resources -- what would be your creative way to fight drugs? Do you think there is any way to completely put an end to drug use?

it can never be eliminated. it will stay there but there are good ways to address (just address) it by focusing on family and on laws that protect families...

Research on cocaine-addicted rats shows that rats who are addicted to cocaine, then exposed for 30 days to an enriched environment, will choose the enriched environment in preference to cocaine. Therefore I'd work on enriching everyone's environment.

Drugs will continue to be abused until human-to-human interaction improves. It's been true throughout history. We've only started concerning ourselves with it recently.

Addicted people, by and large, are self-medicating. Rather than twist arms about dope we should make the world good enough for people not to need it... as geekchick pointed out. The "War on Drugs" actually makes for more addicts.

Want to fight drug abuse, be really kind, loving, respectful and supportive all the time.

I totally agree. The government always focuses on drugs and crimes and such but never ask themselves why these things are there in the first place. Happy people don't do that stuff, they are too busy living their wonderful lives. But take away their money, their freedom, their innocence, and they will want to escape that reality.

Stop child abuse and people will not need to self-medicate their pain with drugs and violence. We cannot continue to destroy children and then wonder why adults are such a mess.
