      Regarding Chilean sea bass:
      Pirate fishing fleets that disregard fishing limits are illegally catching this fish from Antarctica. Unless people stop eating Chilean sea bass, it may be commercially extinct within five years. So remember, however deliciously you prepare it, pirates probably poached it first.

      Yeah that's all great but Shaw's supermarket is legally selling it and I am buying and eating it.

      Answer the question.
    6. Jeunelle
      I DIDN'T ASK YOUR OPINION OR VIEWS ON CHILEAN SEA BASS
      THE QUESTION IS "WHAT'S FOR DINNER"?

      Now she's gonna come in here and tell me what to eat.
      ANSWER THE QUESTION..... JEESSSSUUSSSS
    7. sensico
      oh noes Jeunelle....dont stoke the fire
    8. Jeunelle
      Somebody here thinks we asked their personal opinion on chilean sea bass.
    9. sensico
      well, fair enough but if this possibly results in more drama then Im going to be pissed off as I'll be sleeping and wont be around for the action
    10. Jeunelle
      The drama ain't coming from me because anyone with eyes can see that my question
      was simple. WHAT'S FOR DINNER? Now it's being turned into some pirating statement
      from somebody who clearly has strong views about certain fish, this ain't that kind of discussion. I asked a simple question and if the members are incapable of answering the simple question, then that member should get gone.
    11. ArsenicCookies
      I love eating chilean sea bass. Yum... argh!
    12. sensico
      I actually never had it and now this whole conversation makes me want some
  2. sensico
    I had pizza and some Pepsi
    1. Jeunelle
      @sensico...not bad at all.
    2. kellybax
      Didn't you just have pizza yesterday? Nothing wrong with that as I could eat it several days of the week

      Edited to say: D'oh! This was from yesterday! So....did you have it again today?
    3. sensico
      lol, NO or else I would be officially fat or at least feel fat

      I should probably add that with all that has went on today I forgot to eat enough food. All I had today was some oatmeal and coke.
    4. kellybax
      @sensico: I see the consistency with the Coke. I am a bit of a Coke lover too :)But.....with oatmeal?
    5. sensico
      oh noes, I didn't mean to imply I eat oatmeal and coke at the same time. I had a small bowl of oatmeal in the afternoon and the rest of the day I just drank coke.
    6. sensico
      OK, today is a new day and I had a pizza from Subway, potato chips and coke for dinner.

  10. SweetViolet
    Tonight it will be roast rack of lamb, roasted baby potatoes with garlic, brown mushrooms sauteed with baby marrows (tiny zucchini), and a fruit trifle for dessert.

    Hubby will pick the wine...probably a shiraz (syrah).
    1. Jeunelle
      Did somebody say Lamb????
      hmmm that sounds de licious
    2. Friday13
      Maaaaaaaary hand a little lamb .... chop.
  11. Arnous81
    Im a cheese guy.I had 4 kinds of cheese.Thats it..not really a big dinner but Im trying to lose my little belly.
    1. SweetViolet
      Um...cheese is high in both kilojoules (calories) and fat.

      If you want to drop weight, four kinds of cheese is definitely NOT the way to do it!

      Lots of fresh veggies (steamed), lean meat or fish (grilled), a couple of baby potatoes (steamed, boiled or baked), and some low-fat yoghurt sweetened without sugar. THAT is a balanced, low-calorie meal!
    2. Arnous81
      ..but i love cheese!! Im sure there's a way around this.
    3. SweetViolet
      Bake the potato, cut it open, and grate a 1cm cube of cheese into it.
    4. Arnous81
      Arent potatoes high in carbohydrates?
    5. SweetViolet
      Depends on how much potatoes you eat. My husband is diabetic and is therefore on a carb-controlled diet. If he has potatoes for dinner, he cannot have bread, for example, and his serving of potatoes is 4 baby potatoes. Tonight they will be roasted in the oven along with the rack of lamb.

      A proper diet includes carbs and some fat. You can have potatoes. But make the bulk of your meal steamed fresh (or frozen) veggies. Keep the meat (protein), fat and carbs down to reduce caloric intake, and cook things by grilling or steaming to retain nutrients and to avoid adding fat.
    6. Arnous81
      I agree with all of this except for the protein part, as I am working out and I'd like to build my muscles.
    7. SweetViolet
      Then use lean sources of protein (cheese is a fatty source) like fish and poultry, particularly chicken and turkey breast meat. Eggs are also a good source of protein: poach or boil them to avoid adding fat.
    8. Arnous81
      Yes Ive been eating boiled eggs, and tuna (not together).

      Also have been eating lots of fresh salads.But I just cant stop eating cheese!!!! It's a special relationship that we have, cheese and I.

  13. calais50
    That sounds really yummy, Jeunelle. Fish is my favorite food. I was really busy tonite, so I never really got around to eating dinner. I hate to admit this, but I had a midnite snack consisting of grits and scrambled eggs with tomato juice and coffee. It really hit the spot.
    1. Jeunelle
      @calais50...I have grits on Sunday with some honey on top....very nice
  14. ranist22
    Pasta tonight, with tomato sauce flavoured with herbs de provence. Obama's inauguration starts at about tea-time here in France and will carry on until dinner-time so the dinner will probably be cooked much before.
    1. Jeunelle
      @ranist22....I don't why I don't eat a lot of pasta, I just don't
      Maybe I'm missing out.
    2. SweetViolet
      ooooooo! Pasta! YUM!
    3. Arnous81
      Ravioli with 4 kinds of cheese is one of my all time favorites
    4. SweetViolet
      I like cappellini (angel hair) with a red sauce containing roasted garlic, brown mushrooms, onion, red wine, and herbs, especially basil. All covered with grated Romano cheese.
    5. Arnous81
      My lunch break is in an hour, and you are getting my hungry.That's it.Im blowing my diet for lunch today.
  15. timethief
    What I'm eating for supper tonight is:

    Chicken Pot Pie
    Ingredients
    * 1 pound skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cubed
    * 1 cup sliced carrots
    * 1 cup frozen green peas
    * 1/2 cup sliced celery
    * 1/3 cup butter
    * 1/3 cup chopped onion
    * 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
    * 1/2 teaspoon salt
    * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
    * 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
    * 1 3/4 cups chicken broth
    * 2/3 cup milk
    * 2 (9 inch) unbaked pie crusts

    Instructions:
    (1) Preheat oven to 425 degrees F
    (2) Combine chicken, carrots, peas, and celery in a saucepan,. Add water to cover and boil for 15 minutes. Remove from heat, drain and set aside.
    (3) In the saucepan over medium heat, cook onions in butter until soft and translucent. Stir in flour, salt, pepper, and celery seed. Slowly stir in chicken broth and milk. Simmer over medium-low heat until thick. Remove from heat and set aside.
    (4) Place the chicken mixture in bottom pie crust. Pour hot liquid mixture over. Cover with top crust, seal edges, and cut away excess dough. Make several small slits in the top to allow steam to escape.
    (5) Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes, or until pastry is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool for 10 minutes before serving.
    1. BennyGreenberg
