I am a movie fanatic. I try and buy a DVD every other week, and rent several though the week as well.

So, what ten movies could you not live without? Yes, TEN, for those of us who are freaks!

Here are mine:

1. Peter Brook's Mahabharata
2. The Matrix (I'd try and sneak in the two sequels when no one is looking)
3. 28 Days Later (and a sneak for 28 Weeks Later)
4. Pan's Labyrinth
5. Pirates of the Caribbean
6. Nineteen Eighty-Four
7. Patton
8. Snatch
9. The Wizard of Oz
10. Run, Lola, Run

I got about 200 B-Grades!! Choosing only 10? If that's my option for a deserted island, I'd choose a bigger deserted island.

    2. (insert some Vincent Price film here)
    3. Sleepless
    4. Bram Stoker's Dracula
    5. Ninth Gate

    10. Night of the Living Dead

No Fair. Harry Potter counts as five and Pirates counts as three. That's eight. If I can count all of the Harry Potters as one I'm changing my list.

      :-D

Some of my most proud DVD's are actually b-movies.

"Star Crash" would be my all time favorite since we are talking b-movies here. I mean, it's Hasselhoff with a light saber! Can life get better that? If so, I don't really want to know.

    Others would include:

    -Switchblade Sisters (aka "the Jezebels")
    -For Your Height Only
    -Night of the Lepus
    -Yor the Hunter
    -Barn of the Blood Llama
    -The Shogun's Assassin
    -The Ice Pirates
    -Story of Ricki
    -Megaforce
    -Krull
    -Troll 2
    -Critters

Pretty much your standard cinematic brilliance.
  12. 2sweetnsaxy
    Only 10? Oooh, that's a hard one.

    Our Man Flint
    Crimson Tide
    Hunt For Red October
Indiana Jones - The Last Crusade (crying about leaving the other two)
    Pirates of the Caribbean
    The Rock
    Armageddon
    The Goonies
    My Cousin Vinny
    The Princess Bride

    To Sir With Love
    Ladyhawke

Okay, I don't wanna play any more. I've listed twelve and I still have 100 to pick through. :-( It's too hard. I'm already thinking about stashing some under my shirt. :-D

Mostly music-oriented stuff, since I can have it on while I do really tedious work and be distracted just enough without having to follow a plot:
    Gimme Shelter
    The Last Waltz
Sonic Youth videos collection (can't remember what that one's called)
    Don't Look Back
    Festival Express
    Concert for Bangladesh
    Jesus Christ Superstar
    Koyannisquatsi
    but also
    Coffee & Cigarettes
    Apocalypse Now
    Gandhi
