Content is King. You will hear me say that a lot. SEO, Rank, layout, navigation, none of that amounts to a hill of beans if you don't have good content.
Many people argue with me about this. And I would agree with them if they were right.
  2. turnem
I would absolutely agree on previously said - content is everything, that is why my blog is not on my satisfactory level
  3. jjwright85
I would say interesting content. For some reason I enjoy blogs on all sorts of topics because they never grow boring. But thats just me.
  4. tamalds
Ok, content is one point. Do you like blogs which updates daily?
    1. jjwright85
I prefer blogs that update daily just because it gives fresh content.

Like I once read, blogs are like newspapers. No one wants to see the same headlines for more than a day.
    2. tamalds
I give u lots of diggs!
    3. pertdoherty
      yes of course
  5. Donace
bu then again bloggers like me whose time is limited can only update on a adhoc basis
    1. tamalds
Ok, thats another point. Do you subscribe to your fave blog? If not, why you didn't subscribed?
  6. offendedblogger
If I can stay focussed on the writing past 2 sentences I will come back. Or if it has nice photos.

The unholy trinity of wine, women and song.

If I can subscribe to an email feed, that is great.
    Otherwise something interesting.

What makes me NOT come back: How to make money with blogging blogs.
  8. Kiwipulse
For the content, a blog without content is an empty blog!
  9. Naturalwoman
content and if they make me laugh. if they think outside the box and post from another angle
  10. whojaybe
Content is key but also when someone leaves comments on my blog regularly, that catches my attention and then I return the favor... and if their blog is REALLY interesting, they got a new daily visitor in me!
  11. FLOOG
It's content that brings me back time and time again. I'm not bothered about layout, if the words capture my imagination, and hold my interest.

A beautifully laid out blog with bugger all worth reading, interests me not a jot I'm afraid.
  12. krstalln02
i visit my favorite blogs daily sometimes more then once and no i never click on their ads and what makes me keep coming back is either something interesting they talk about or i feel a connection w/them like a kindred soul
  13. sherxr
I know what makes me NOT want to visit the blog again.. too much PAID REVIEWS and ADS.
I frequent my blogger friends' blogs everyday (more than once a day) to check for new content.
  14. XanthePat
I never click adds. I like photos and I like to subscribe.
  15. jackpayne
It's great writing that attracts me. There are 4 blogs that hypnotically attract me--daily--for only one reason: they are so beautifully written.
  16. starwish
    simple navigation, good content

Witty Content...if the blogger is clever his words on certain topics..it will garner my interest..
  19. blackzedd
Well, I don't have that much time visit all my favorite blogs, therefore I only subscribe to their feeds. If I don't subscribe, I don't come back. And I only subscribe to the limited few...
  20. Norski
    Fresh content.
  21. filmasia

the authors selfexpression and represantion of his/her content is vvhat i like to see mirrored in appealing design, usability, teasing headlines, pictures, nice finds, challenging topics. * i see alot of the persons purpose and character in the blog posts and in his comments in blogcatalog discussions :-) and on other blogs. * i´ll subscribe if i feel approached in a lovely and committing vvay. * by far i disagree that a blog is equal to a nevvspaper. daily updates aren´t a must for me. i prefer seeing as first post on a blog a tag cloud / updated titel or keyvvord post i can brovvse. (vvhat do you think about this idea of promotion and teasing)

    hope that helps.
    sincerely yours veryheaven

Content is king. Everything else is just confusing. I want to know right off some sense of who the blogger is and what they're blogging for/about. If it's clearly just for money, then I'm away...engage me with something, some snip of your day, or some project you're working on, some recent experience you've had.

For example, I'd rather read a blog that talks about the fun and franticness of preparing for a dinner party with friends, with maybe a recipe attached near the end. Just a recipe on its own will rarely hold my attention.

Really, tho, even with content, it has to be something that appeals to me personally...there are some topics I couldn't care less about.

If your content's engaging, then as a blogger myself, I realize that sometimes you just can't post everyday, and I don't mind checking back a couple of times before a new entry.

I never subscribe...there's already too much in my email box. Blog surfing is something I do for fun, and because I start to feel a sense of community with the person who's content draws me back.
  24. asithi
I usually subscribe after one or two posts. I figure I can always unsubscribe if I dislike their other content later. I rarely visit a site unless I have a comment after subscribing and never click on any ads.
    1. tamalds
I think we bloggers don't click on other blogs, actually I don't click ads either.
  25. daniel23
content. pictures of scarcely clad women. whatever.
  26. nardeeisms
    content only.
  27. Donlewis
To see if it's gotten any better since I wrote it.
  28. urikalish
Well, if a blog owner has hidden camera video of you having s*x with a pink-dotted purple armadillo while shouting pieces from Beethoven's symphony number nine, then you may be forced to go back to his site again and again just to click on his AdSense links.
  29. 4Freedoms
For the content about love, sex and relationship advice.
    1. tamalds
How many blogs do you read on this topic? Name some please,
  30. marcueto
    Well written, positive message.
    Brief stories with photos.
Must be inspiring, thought provoking and practical.
I link to blogs and refer to them in my class, so I also search for content that my students can appreciate and enjoy.

I am loyal to the blog and the bloggers when I sense something genuine in their writing, no pretense and no hype for the sake of hype. When their words resonate within me, I am hooked...
  31. cmw4562
well, I will visit a blog repeatedly when the owner is featured in an AOL article. I have learned alot from these types of blogs and find myself referring to them on a regular basis.
The content is very important. It is nice when the content speaks from personal experience rather then telling you that you should try "Program A" simply because the author said so.
  32. emerson
    Content.i need it badly.
  33. davet
content and updates. nothing worse than seeing a blog with a month or older most recent dateline on it.
