Writers like to complain about critics but sometimes the vilest, least measured criticism emanates from the envenomed pen of fellow or sister scribes. See here:

for Tolstoy on Shakespeare, Faulkner on Twain, Woolf on Joyce … Ouch!

What's the nicest/nastiest thing somebody has said about your writing -- or you?

Well My nicest was "this is actually brilliant" and my nastiest was "what a load of crap".

You'll always get loved by people (besides your mum) and hated by some negative people who spend their life commenting "nasty" things which seems utterly pointless in my view.

My worst was probably being hit on by a fellow writer who is a hell of a lot older and married.

Someone once compared me to Shakespeare. Unfortunately, it was Tolstoy, and you know what he thought of him.

I dont have to worry about that I dont have any comments on my writing just my spelling and I was called stupid and an idiot over that. I dont care either way as long as you can understand what I am saying.
