What's wrong with ALEXA Rankings?

Something is weird and I can't really understand what's going on.

Last week my Alexa Ranking was below 100k. Then after the firefox 3 was released, my Alexa hit rock bottom as fast as my eyes could blink.

Currently right now it's weekly average is at 900k. But the thing is, my traffic increased but my Alexa ranking dropped. Before when I was averaging 150-200 visits per day, my Alexa rank was at 100-200k. This week my visits per day averages at 250-300 and my Alexa rank is now at 900k++?? You've got to be kidding me.

What's going on? `\(-_-)/`

Are there any new news on how their ranking works? If anyone knows, I would really appreciate it.

P.S.
Does Alexa Rank still matter nowadays or is it just a number?

    I have no idea about alexa - but, I will offer my 2cents on two points.

    1) that's a cool ascii art `\(-_-)/` and ,,v,(^_^),v,,

    2) It's quite irritating that after 58 minutes you feel you have to bump this thread "to get attention". If people know the answer, I'm sure they will eventually respond.

      Thanks PetLvr but what is wrong with asking? Is it against TOS in BC to ask something (in 58 minutes)? If there is, then I'd say I would stand corrected.

      Secondly what's with the attitude of you getting irritated about your alleged "bumping this thread to get attention". Not to disrespect you or anything but that is unjust of you to assume. My effort to ask was pure objective. If I it was done in haste, I do apologize.

      Well on second thought, it's a freeworld anyway. People are entitled to speak what they want, even if at times it's out of the boundary.

    Maybe it's just a bug. I looked into your site and saw your alexa ranking at 197k.

      197k? It's ranking right now is at 191,590. That's the 3 months average I think. But if you check here www.alexa.com/data/details/traffic_details/marcdionisio.blogspot.com you can see that it's weekly average is 990k.

      Oddly enough my visitors has increased this week but my Alexa rank plumeted. O_O

      I'm thinking maybe this has got to do with Alexa's new algorithm or stuff. Penalizing the hoard of EC visitors I get. I suppose...
