Girls on film - duran duran. I dont care for the song much but the video is always entertaining.

Otherwise I always thought "take on me" by aha was a video that was ahead of its time

Yeah, take on me is really cool.
    2. Larissa31
You know, I prefer Duran Duran's Rio video...I love the song and the video...

I also like A-Ha's "Take On Me" and "Metro" by Berlin but I'm gonna have to go with Dead or Alive's "You Spin Me."

Flag twirling, drag, eye patches...all the bases for an awesome video covered

I love Take on Me Best.Video.Ever.

The thing I dont get with dead or alive is that the lead singer seems want to be in a completely different group from the rest of the band. They all look normal while he looks like a boy george rip off - and whats with the eye patch.

Most cost effective video from the 80's has to be from Flock of Seaguls - I ran. Great song but the video looks like its on a very tight budget

Wow, I forgot about Dead or Alive's You Spin Me. It rocks! The video is just so bad that it's enjoyable. LOL. I love that song.
    4. Anok
God I forgot about "I ran". Heh - weren't all new wave video's kind of...uhmmm "cost effective" looking?
    5. Sam1982
Haha, some more than others though. I think Flock of Seaguls wasted their budget on hair and make-up.

Another good video was New Order - Blue Monday
    6. itSAMEERacle
lol i dream of having hair like the flock of seagulls singer!
    7. Anok
It must have cost them a fortune in Dippity-Do

What about Adam Ant? He had a lot of good videos. For example, Strip.
    1. Sam1982
I'd have to look that one up on youtube - Im not that familiar with adam ant.

Do ever remember watching some of these videos and seeing the computer effects and wondering if you could make the same sort of videos on your commodore 64?

Whip it by Devo is also great...
    1. Sam1982
Gotta love them hats too - its a true sign of the times, could you imagine any of todays artists getting away with something so bizarre?

Soft cell - tainted love, back in the day it was a very trippy video. Although i admit it used to give me nightmares thinking that the invisible people would come into my room and dance like the do in the video
    2. busylizzy
I first saw Devo do Whip It on SNL. I thought it was a fake band, like their fake commercials!

    take on me by aha
  6. busylizzy
I like the cloned ladies in Addicted to Love. It cracked me up.
    1. Sam1982
There was still something sexy about that video though in my opinion. Although I did think Robert Palmer was a play on words at first.

Forgot about that one! We play it every Halloween! (I collect Halloween/scary movies)
    2. Friday13
Do you all dance to it, as well?
  8. PotatoChef
    I would walk 500 miles....Gag me with a spoon!
    1. Sam1982
Thats a good drinking song though
    2. PotatoChef
Yeah...it is just terrible...but it is one of those songs you can't help listening...LOUD

Another great one is Moments in Love by the Art of Noise...
