Just posted an essay on how I first got to hear the wonderful 'Dragonfly' by Fleetwood Mac. Inspired me to ask the community this question!

I'm always fascinated by Tusk for some reason. But their Greatest Hits album as a whole is very good.

Tusk is my answer - I love that song!

I might add that Fleetwood Mac were two distinctively different bands.

The Blues band featuring Peter Green

and the commercial band that had all those hits.

Both bands are great, however, I love the Peter Green outfit

Peter Green and Leslie West (of Mountain) would possibly be the most underated guitar players in the history of guitar.

You're right about Peter Green. The original Fleetwood Mac put out some great blues (and of course, Black Magic Woman).

AG, there's a documentary on Peter Green on YouTube. Here's part 1 of 12:

      Hi Acousticguitarist

Thanks for your great post and for drawing attention to the mighty Peter Green and his huge influence on Fleetwood Mac in its early days.

What I have found extraordinary about the Mac has been it's ability to continually produce rock music of the very highest quality with each new group iteration.

I also still believe that 'Tusk' is a staggeringly brave album release for a mainstream rock band, but to have the chutzpah to release it as the follow up to 'Rumours', one of the most successful albums of all time still beggars belief.
