    I don't really remember
    liking any particular
    games as a child, but
    what I loved doing was
    playing outside, walking
    in the fields and woods,
    and being out in nature.

close to nature is very healthy, both to body and heart

I did not have a single favorite game, but I did invent a game called Strata. It's a more complex variant of tic-tac-toe.

    Hungry, Hungry Hippos.

It used to drive my parents crazy because it made so much noise. That or Monopoly. We used to play after dinner and the first one out would have to go to bed. It was an ongoing challenge.

    Strata sounds pretty awesome.

I am not sure if I remember right but I think it was 'Dirty the Diaper'. Either that or 'Nose, Nose, Runny Nose'.

I remember my family playing LIFE a lot when I was a kid, and also a game called "Aggravation" that was a lot like Sorry but with marbles. I was dismayed a few years ago when I mentioned tiddly winks to my kids and none of them had ever heard of it. We immediately went out to buy it and discovered that most of the store clerks had never heard of it, either! At one point, the woman at the service desk of our local WalMart called another store to find out whether they had it and ended up putting me on the phone to describe it to the person in the toy department at the other store...who said, "Oh! I think I've seen something like that. No, we don't have it, but I think I know what you're talking about."

Hmmm my favourite game was 'lock sister in cupboard' or 'Hide behind things and then jump out to induce screams'

    I was a horrible child

Favourite board game was Cluedo, i think you call it Clue in the US.

i never tried lock sister in cupboard ... i played "show sister how to beat the babylock on her door" ...

but i also played "jump out from behind (or under) things and scare the bloody bananas out of sister" ... i occasionally played the same game, but with mom. (gotta hear an eddie izzard voice saysing bananas)

oh oh ... and "put the fake plastic spider on my window screen so mom will scream" ... that was an *excellent* game.

we also played: boarding school, hardy boys and star wars a lot.

Red light/green light, jacks, hide and go seek, goose & fox in the snow.

The one my siblings played the most was simply called "hit her (me) on the head," not my favorite. LOL

When I was little my best friend and I loved to play with our Fisher Price Little People. We had houses. I had an airport. She had a school and a bus. We were set. We'd play for hours.

I was a fan of Life and Clue, but I also spent a good amount of time obsessed by Atari Breakout. The virtual ball would hit the paddle and...blllleeeeeepp!... rip through a multicolored wall and fly back at you...

It had a very specific sound I recall fondly today.

I start a new posting of Chinese games, introducing games with pictures, so it's easier to understand what it is like and how to play.
