Hi,
What's your opinion about a blog forum?
I just spent 4 1/2 hours creating a blog forum. It has 40 forum topics. I have a bit of a problem with the forum and categories. When I am on the index page, my topics are all there. Under one top topic is showing all of those topics again. 40 topic now doubled. I'm so tired that I think I'll go to bed and try again tomorrow. If anyone know how to fix this problem, please help me out. It was a nightmare when I started and more of a nightmare rerun creating this. Thanks

Note: This is not a promotion. I really need help.

Sorry as I am not on the technical side. But may I suggest this- give yourself a break and then you will be able to think more clearly. Maybe the topics are too many. It is always advisable to start with something small and manageable and then to build up. Go to bed and try again tomorrow. You definitely need the break. Sorry as I am unable to assist you.

Hello,
Thanks for responding. Your comment is much appreciated. I woke up today feeling a lot better and relaxed. The url above is a generic url. The one to visit Blogs Forum is blogsforum.forumotion.com/index.htm
If you visit, please let me know what did you see. Because it is a phpbb3, on my browser it shows a members login page. I searched all over the Admin area for permissions to open the entire forum. I can't locate it. Anyways, it looks nice and I hope I can get an upgrade if it shows success. It is more of a test forum for me. I created the header for it too. They do offer nice images to put as the forum header. I prefer my own images. Thanks

I'm fixing it up in five Categories with sub categories. Money Moose, if you ever created a forum, I suggest that you should consider to more optimistic view about my forum. It will be active. Thanks anyways for your response, hey it's the only way to have a great forum is cold hard criticism. Forums aren't usually made over night. I posted to each area topic and that is work in itself. I think I did pretty well. All of these topics I know about. And shoot, if someones needs help, If I am available, I can help out another blogger. I will do my best to make it originally unique amazingly active.

Optimism only helps if it's well founded
I find criticism the best way to make people improve. I speak from what I've seen before and how well it's worked.
Anywho, I don't see any categories/subcategories. I still see the original 25 categories which are all inactive. Unless you've got a blog/website with readers willing to post on a forum this big it's going to take a long, long, long time to get active. The less categories you have earlier the better. Once you get it active then you can slowly add more.
Do you have any plans to get it active?

Yes I have plans to get it active. As you can see that the beginning of the discussion is that I am having problems in creating the forum not that I was promoting it yet. I always test before launching as my marketing rule. I network with plenty of people online, so once I get this corrected then I can tell everyone about it that I know. I've been online marketing for quite sometime so I pretty much know how to get this forum active. This forum phpbb3 is totally new to me compared to the old style regular phpbb. I found a golden nugget on this forum phpbb3 is one of the reasons for me creating it. I am also going to link it to my newest blog. I was a webmaster before my blogging, so I know some pretty cool ways to promote it. But for now, I'll keep working on this forum today. I might start all over again and I took screen shots of what I did work on to reflect my experience. Something I can blog about on Creating Forums from Scratch.
Well, back to the drawing board. I leave updates of my progress comes along. Thanks -

It looks like your problem is fixed now - or, at least I can't see the problem.
I know from having 2 full forums and 2 integrated forums .. that as nice as your forum is - unfortunately - less is better. I've concluded that about 6 topics are about as much as any forum should have. That way, there aren't many forums that are left untouched for a while and subject to spammers.-
I fixed my new forum. Come see what the new theme and color. I also categorized it. blogsforum.forumotion.com I just finished the last touches and dumped a bunch of topics. Down to 14 categories for everyone that views it, but members get 26 categories. I have knowledge in every category that I created. Thanks for reading and let me know what you think of it.
