Do you think they work? Would it be an option for you? Or would it just cause a lot of problems within a relationship?

My take on it - as I show on my latest post - is that monogamy may be contrary to human nature, yet at the same time many people tend to be jealous and possessive and could not really handle open relationships.

However, if both parties agree it actually might be worth a try ...

It is not for me...having said that, I have Coached couples who do have an open relationship - and it is unique to the relationship - as long as both parties are open, have an agreement and clear boundaries...it works for them.

I wrote a post on that issue on my blog: 'Even Swingers Cheat.' It sounds good in theory, but in reality it doesn't really work.

You must be strong as a couple to withstand an open relationship.

I come from a generation when open relationships were all the rage. My observation is that, in most cases, they're short lived. Eventually, one partner decides they want something more stable and consistent and takes up with someone else.

My take on open relationships is: "Bull s###!"
