I don't know if I had an overload of Ace of Cakes or youtube cake decorating videos or what. I think it triggered something last night. I had a dream that I was running a bakery and got a phone call for a tiered cake (like a wedding cake) with an Image of Freddy Krueger on it. I can't stand Freddy I don't know how he ended up in my dream. Anyhow, I finished the cake and was about to deliver it. It turns out the customer was Freddy Kruegar. I guess there was a nightmare on my street.

So, what is your weirdest?

I had a dream about getting a phone call advertising a television show. I ranted at what I thought was a recording, but turned out to be a live person. When I hung up, I thought, "I have to blog about this."

Then I woke up and realized it was a dream. I still blogged about it.

Lol! That reminds me of the phone commercials that promised they wouldn't call on special occasions. Ironically, one of those phone companies called on my 21st birthday after those commercials aired it was so funny I laughed at the telemarketer.

Freddie would have no problem cutting the cake... I'll give him that! [shudders]

I had an interesting dream a few weeks ago. In it, I was an art student that visited a strange historical victorian village on a college assignment. I think I was entering art pieces for a museum catalogue. I was also a ballet dancer who wanted to both run a gallery and teach children's dance classes when I got out of school. *Anyway* there were these creepy old women living in the historical village... at least, they were creepy at first, but as I got to know them, they were increasingly quirky and cute. And as I was preparing to go back to college, one of them confided in me that I had actually been betrothed to her son at birth -- a person I had never met. I met him and we became friends and decided to turn the historical village into an art colony.

It was one of the rare times when I had a dream that was entirely logical and linear. Usually, they jump around. But this one was like a story. It was a fun dream.

Did it seem current or old? Like time period wise.

Freddy doesn't scare me I've no clue how he ended up in my dream. Halloween coming soon?
    2. MidwestMom
It seemed totally current. Except that everyone in this 're-enactment-type' historical town was dressed like they were from the 1880s. It was strange.

Maybe you have a past life? I totally believe in those.
    4. MidwestMom
Do you? I told my husband about it... and he was surprised I remembered things in such detail -- even how warm/cold I felt or how things smelled.

If it was a past life, it seemed happy.

I am the same way. I have a Civil War thing.

I don't dream much these days (that I remember anyway), but as a child, I used to have the same dream over and over again. A big black hole would chase me around my room and just as it was about to suck me up, I'd wake up.
    1. Shiley
Freaky. I used to dream teddy bears with laser guns were chasing me. I started to sleep with dolls.

Isn't that close to what a child being born might experience? Especially if the child were asleep, it might come in its dream

Well this is a weird one to share. When I have to get up during the night to go to the bathroom, I frequently am dreaming right beforehand that I going to the bathroom. Only thing in every dream I have that way, the bathroom is never a normal bathroom.

    Strange.

Right after my mother died. I dreamed I was a huge snake, a boa constrictor. And suddenly I started to swallow myself, until I completely disappeared. I woke up trembling. To me, it was an image of nothingness, of vanishing, of death.

Jörmungandr, maybe? I think the Midgard Serpent does have a sense of destruction being linked to eternity.

And subconscious interpretation likes to pick from myth.

How do you people remember your dreams?
    1. MidwestMom
I don't remember *every* dream. Just important ones.

I make a point about remembering my dreams when I go to bed. Try to remind yourself not to forget your dreams, until it becomes a habit not to forget. I do this because they're such a laugh when you wake up!

    I kept having this dream.

I only remembered it because I walked into my friend's house one day and he was sprinkling fish food in his aquarium tank. Then it hit me!

I'd have this recurring dream that I forgot to feed my fish. But there was not just one fish bowl/tank, there were fish bowls EVERYWHERE, hidden under things, stacked on top of each other.. that I had let go or just "forgotten" about for months. And the fish were still alive, somehow.

My weirdest was dreaming my inhaler had Easy Cheese in it, which I can't eat because I'm a very picky vegetarian. I, instead, offered my inhaler cheese to the others at some party.

      OMG that IS weird.

One of the korean singers (MC Mong) was courting me. I don't like MC Mong. His nickname is Monkey because he's so ugly but he's a very good singer. He's one of the most famous singers in Korea. Anyway, my dream was really strange. I haven't met him in person so we don't know each other.

That I won the World Series of Poker. The weird part was that everytime I won I would sing a line from Wagon Wheel by Old Crow Medicine Show. At the final table the crowd was singing it as well. Weird..but it is a great song.

My most recent weird dream was one I had a few days ago, in which I was in something like a haunted house (not a real one; a 'fun' one at a carnival or a party). In it, there was a marshmallow waterfall, which I was gliding on, but was supposed to be diving into. So I dove and...brushed my head against my headboard, waking myself up.

I have a long list of weird dreams, but this is the latest one: I gave birth to a child that I had no doubt was mine & hubbies, but she looked Chinese (which is odd coming from a Finn-Aussie combo) and she started speaking within hours of her birth... In Chinese. I was quite surprised at the whole Chinese thing in the dream, but more than that I was SOOO PROUD that I had given birth to a genius. XD

If that wasn't weird enough, I'm childless by choice.

My weirdest dreams are the ones that tell me that my brain knows what it's not supposed to know. It's illogical!

Well I have weird dreams, but I'm gonna try and not talk about em. Maybe that'll make em stop

I was dreaming about a thief on the corridor sneaking in the dark and jumped on me while i was walking. I woke up several times right after he jumped on me n my dream.
At the last time i saw the dream i fought with the thief and kill him. That gave me a huge self confidence after all.
